Why don't you try to do it like Hushovd? Bad that there is no Champs Élysées...
What?! TDF whitout champs élysées?! The maker is a foul or what?
Actually there's for sure a Champs Élysées, but it's an ITT
Like in the old days or what? That's nice

I could do it Hushovd style. But probably he won`t even able to finish in the time limit on all the next stages. He was already 77min back in one of the stages and was just in time.
And Emmea used indeed the time trial on the Champs Elysees, so no sprint points for Haussler. |

And you will probably see mountain riders do best in that because they will get a decent form.
Also, if someone is interested in the object for champs elysees itt contact me

Just came back home but not sure if I will play the next stage today.
So later this evening (could be a long one as I am watching NBA finals...Go Dirk...) or tomorrow. |

Tour de France - Stage 16
Avignon - La Montagne de Lure
Another hard mountain stage. After passing a HC category the riders will finish on a cat.1 moutnain top finish. A typical stage in this Tour edition.
After realizing that our two leaders can`t ride with the best we definitely want in the break today.
First group was around Jakob Fuglsang. The pace in the peloton was very high, so it was still unsure if the group can stay like this.
On the first mountain Fuglsang increased a bit and created a small gap to Bouet (Movistar), Mollema (Colnago), Cancellara (Leopard), Bonnafond (Ag2r) and the others.
Later that climb some other riders attacked. Within this group Cadel Evans (Leopard) and Cobo Acebo (Movistar) might be the strongest. Also both of them have strong team mates already in the first group.
Also Nicholas Roche in this group. Nice to see him performing well.
On top of the climb both groups came together and also Fuglsang was caught again. But the Dane is at least winning the sprint there.
Nothing interesting on the descent, so we jump to the final climb. 20km to go and just 4min for the group. On a hard climb like this one, this isn`t very much.
Cobo Acebo attacked out of the group and Fuglsang closed the gap with Evans behind him. These two are now leading the race. 5km and 1min left to the favourite group with ~25 riders including Sanchez luckily.
Van Den Broeck with a strong attack. Schleck and Nibali follow, while Contador is doing a high pace in the group now, so that they split. Sanchez in the 2nd group now.
With just 2km to go Contador leads the first groups together and also Fuglsang is caught now. A pity for him. But at least he is able to stay with this group at the moment.
Again a new winner today. Van Den Broeck obviously had a +5 today. He was just the strongest. He wins ahead of Nibali, who had another perfect day and Contador. Schleck is losing 11s ahead of a bigger group with 21s including Fuglsang as 10th today. A strong performance by him.
Sanchze reaches the finish with 1'01 in the 2nd big group between other strong riders and ahead of riders like Lövkvist, Martin or Brajkovic.
So probably the best result so far in the mountain stages.

Nice try by Fuglsang.. VDB was incredible strong and is still in a really good position as 3rd in such a hard Tour.. but most important: Garmin had some nice race-action today, at least a Top-10-result in the mountains

Still within top 20! A lot of strong GC-riders in this tour so a top 20 is not a bad result at all
Edit: Maybo you should go for the giro and the vuelta with your GC-contenders next year and try and get the points jersey in the tour?

Too bad Fuglsang couldn't hold on to take a stage win, but still a 10th place is a very good result. Sánchez looking stronger is also a great sign. I hope you can get some more nice results in the coming stages.

Thanks for the comments. Indeed a nice stage with an unlucky end.
@ mowinckel91: I always have one of my best GT riders for the Vuelta. And Martin just likes the Giro in this story. He is the best climber by far and the Giro normally has the hardest mountains and shortest time trials. So he is better there than in other GT`s. HE could only go for the Vuelta podium instead. |

After passing a HC category
You can't call the mont ventoux simple "a HC category"

Thanks for the comments.
@emmea: You are right. I can`t call the Mont Ventoux just HC category. I just forgot to check the mountain name before writing the report. Big mistake.
Tour de France - Stage 17
Gap - Sestriere
Another hard stage before the second rest day. The real difficulty starts 50km to the finish with the long climb onto the Col de la Fenêtre. The final climb on the Col de Sestriere isn`t that steep anymore.
Can our riders continue with the positive trend today?
Unfortunately none of our riders were able to jump into this group after being caught on the fast first kilometers.
With Péraud (Omega), Devolder (Quick), Roche (Ag2r), Machado (RadioShack), Txurruka (Euskaltel), Evans (Leopard), Roy (FDJ), Geniez (Skil) and Cobo Acebo (Movistar) the group is still very strong.
With 95km to go Astana is leading the peloton over the first real climb of the day. The advance is already at 9'30 and still growing.
The group starts the long climb. Roche, Evans and Cobo Acebo are the strongest there as expected.
What a power. Soler, F.Schleck and Velits are doing the pace for Contador. Although the advance is over 11min now the pace isn`t that high and ~40 riders are able to follow including our two leaders.
Meanwhile Cadel Evans is leading solo now as no former companion was able to follow his pace. He is very active in this Tour de France with his free role behind his leaders Schleck and Gesink but before the pure helpers like Gerdemann or Porte.
Still 7'30 for him on top of the climb winning 40 points, but he doesn`t really care anything else than the possible stage win now.
40 riders did it into the first big group after the climb. On the descent and now on the final climb the pace became very high. Contador with the first attack and after catching the group also a quite slow Cadel Evans is in the view of them. He really has no power left. What a pity for the Australian.
Sanchez and Fuglsang are still in the very big pack for the final sprint. Quite a surprise that there are still so many riders left on such a hard stage but Astana never pushed as hard as on the previous days.
Bradley Wiggins takes his second staeg win ahead of Anton and Menchov. Fuglsang as 9th and Sanchez as 10th with great results.
Only surprise was that Kevin Seeldraeyers lost 48s today but keeps his great 6th in the overall.
Also Tejay Van Garderen will wear the white jersey tomorrow. After his early crash and ~30 min back after the first flat stages he gained some time back from stage to stage and might be the deserved winner in the end.

Very good result with Top-10 Would have expected a smaller group here, but there will be for sure enough hard stages to come... keep it up, i'm hoping for a Top-5 soon

Another hard stage before the second rest day
How is this possible... the 1st rest day is after corse, the 2nd rest day after puy de dome... ?
I hate that stage in that game, because fenetre didn't do any selection, we played it at italian championship with Izoard before Mongenevre.
