They were tired at the top - descended far more quickly than the lead trio - and paid for it big style on the final climb.

Just another amazing stage. Congrats to Liquigas they have made this race and Basso now looks set for an excellent win though tomorrow will be interesting.
Nibali and Basso rode that really well, the group behind were unbelievaly hesitent only Evans and Arroyo were working and those two seemed the weakest of the climbers.
The moments of the day for me:
Evans loses contact with Liquigas duo.
Vino climbs well, Sastre battles, Gadret once again why are you so far back.
Arroyo what a descent as Waghlon says if that descent had been longer he may have won the Giro - could it be said those moments were where this Giro were won and lost?
Basso and Nibali (and a bit Scarponi) make amazing gains on last incline.
Strongest rider from strongest team in pink finally on stage 19.
Porte congrats you win the young jersey unlucky Mollema.
Still got tomorrow fun and games in the weather perhaps? |

I've seen only a few stages from this Giro but 4 Rabobank riders in top 25 makes me quite happy, as well as the Liquigas duo on the podium

huh?
If you mean the Liquigas duo on the podium making me happy, I would really rather see them there than Scarponi, Evans or Vinokourov

Maybe Cadel is too clean to win a GT, or maybe I'm wrong, the others are too strong for him. Or perhaps his preparation has started way too much early, remember at Tour Down Under he got 6th place overall, then 3rd at Tirreno, tip-top form at the Ardennes Classics and in the first Giro week. He seems he slowly lost his form, but how long can it last anyway, he should have knows his limits and body? In this rhytm, at the Tour he will be again outside top 20. In conclusion, I think his very bad schedule this season has concluded his GT win chance. It was definitively, his LAST one. |

Why are Cadel fans always the same. When he loses, it's always the others are too doped or he is too clean
Ever thought of this? He is not strong enough to be good for 3 weeks. He always fails in the 3rd week.
Some people are very good riders, but will never win a GT. Simple as that |

Evans was in excellent shape in the Ardennes classics, it would be insane if he was able to maintain that form for well over a month. |

You didn't get the point. There were a list of good results from the beggining of the season and it was clear that his form can't mantain all over the season. His schedule was the problem. |

I don't think Evans schedule was the problem, but he tried to make good results in too many races. This is how he lost form.
Team Europcar !!
