I *think* I heard the commentators using the words "Rogers" and "mechanical" in the same sentence a little while before he passed the first time check. Now, I don't speak Italian, but could this be correct and explain his time loss to a degree? |

Slightly dissapointing by Basso so far, I had expected him to do better, at least up the first climb. Will be intersting to see how long Garzelli's time will stand, he lost quite a bit of time to Gianni on the last part. Oh, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Menchov blow up slightly in the end, we've seen him overestimating his powers before. |

Considering how long this stage is and the fact that he has an 18 second lead, I doubt he will keep up the pace through the whole 61 km. |
