Updated standings here (looks like I am pretty much matching Velogames standings which is a relief!)
https://www.2shared.com/file/5778377/c...iro1.html
I think 8 or 9 players had Scarponi in their teams, he was more popular than Di Luca and Rogers (though less so than Bruseghin). The leaders shuffle a little. I will put the previous days standings in brackets next to each team
1. (1) Leeds cycling (Andreas) 1516 pts (Rogers)
2. (2) Little Midgets (Sven Ver) 1497 pts (Lovkvist)
3. (8) Wolves on Bikes (Olav) 1381 pts (B Hagan, Davis)
4. (4) Ebbas Hjaltar (Jonas) 1360 pts (Scarponi)
5. (NE) Kirkegaard cycling 1350 pts (B Hagan, Di Luca)
6. (NE) 42 (Crommy) 1322 pts (Gilbert, Di Luca)
7. (NE) Patezi (terradda) 1307 pts (B Hagan, Rogers)
8. (6) EDTeam (Eoin) 1257 pts (Gilbert)
9. (7) Pride of Northants (R Tate) 1253 pts (Di Luca)
10. (3) LDF Velingnews (SN) 1222 pts
Looks like tomorrows stage will be a stand off between the Cavendish and Petacchi teams!!! |

I bet on general satnding. Whit Lövkvist, Menchov, Armstorng, Basso and Leipheimer. For stage like that, my result are medium. |

Nr. 5 for me, but i will lose it when basso and leipheimer gets in the front of the gc
Also nice work you are doing Smowz, you are 10 times faster than the velogames by updating the standings

Thanks for the positive feedback, its a shame my numbers don't quite match the Velingnews ones but it gives us a rough idea. Things have tightened up after todays slightly unpredictable stage. Here is a the excel file:
https://www.2shared.com/file/5791747/2...giro1.html
Here is the top 10:
1. (2) Little midgets (Sven Ver) 1611 pts (Lovkvist)
2. (5) Kirkegarrd Cycling (Anders) 1608 pts (B Hagan/ Di Luca)
3. (1) Leeds Cycling (Andreas) 1604 pts (Rogers)
4. (3) Wolves on Bikes (Olav) 1566 pts (B Hagan)
5. (7) Patezi (Terradda) 1493 pts (B Hagan)
6. (6) 42 (Crommy) 1442 pts (Di Luca)
7. (4) Ebbas hjaltar (Jonas) 1417 pts
8. (9) Pride of Northants (R Tate) 1395 pts (Di Luca)
9. (NE) Gagnon (Arnaud) 1378 pts (Goss)
10. (NE) Teamtourdedoping (knasen) 1366 pts (Hunter)
Its really tight at the top there - the weekend promises some exciting action with tomorrows rather lumpy one and the Milano show on Sunday.
I thought it would interesting to have a look at some of the popular riders who have really failed to score the points so far.
All rounders (score per cost and popularity %):
1. A Efimkin 0 0%
2. M Bruseghin 2.1 14%
3. C. Vandevelde 3.2 (Stuck) 8%
4. L. Armstrong 3.9 6%
5. D. Cunego 4.9 15% (including myself!)
6. I Basso 7.0 64%
The Lampre duo of Cunego and Bruseghin have done little to inspire confidence despite relative popularity. Perhaps surprising is Basso's relatively low points at the moment, that will surely change
assorted Climbers
Augustyn 1.0 31%
J Rodriguez 1.0 25%
Valjavec 4.4 21%
Danielson 3.4 9.6%
a couple of Sprinters
Haedo 0 7.7%
Cavendish 11.8 53.9%
some low scoring popular Gregerios
Kessiakoff 3.3 27%
Cancellara 0 21%
Gerrans 0 13.5%
Voeckler 3.7 11.5%
Ignitiev 5 11.5%
What is interesting is that the bottom 10 teams have Basso AND Cavendish in them. The bottom four have Basso, Cavendish and Cancellara in their teams. This probably means the leaderboard can expect to change dramatically! |

I thought I'd be getting nothing today, maybe 2 top 10's with Swift and Hunter from the sprint, but to get Hunter to take 2nd on the stage was a nice surprise. Especially as I didn't have a rider in the break for those vital 10 points
Cunego once more lets me down. But at least Di Luca is raking in the points for a bit.

Next time I should read how the points are given before choosing riders
I chose climbers and GC riders....turns out that won't give me nearly as many points as if I'd gone for sprinters and breakaway riders.

For me it looks like velogames havent updated the points since 5 stage, does anyone of you know if they will update them again, or it just was to much work for them? |
