Ooh, having a ITT on Wednesday. Only bad thing is that this is my 7th day when I've been sick.
Wish me good luck...! |

Got 2nd in the 2/3/4 race at the Upavon Summer Series last night. Got in a break of 7 and on the last lap someone got away, we all looked at each other thinking that he wouldn't last the sprint, but despite going as early as I could, and gaining really quickly on him, I couldn't quite get him!
Will post the results when they are put online. |

I raced a crit today, pretty technical, 1.1 miles 8 corners, partly uphill partly downhill, very hot. I was top 10 6 laps to go when I got pinched off, locked handlebars around a corner, while bumping and throwing elbows. Fell back to the 40's worked my way back to the front just in time to get stuck behind a bad crash, last corner, last lap. Still finished 21st. Another crit tomorrow, this one is flat I think, which should suit me better.
I felt good, even with only 3 hours of sleep. When the organizers rang the bell for an intermediate sprint, I took to the front and hammered like crazy, riding all but 8 guys off my wheel. It was a good thing too, since the field had to chase and on that course, when the pack bunched up it turned into a big meatgrinder, and there were 3 straight premes.
When the bunch came together it got dangerous, the last crash of the race requires paramedics to come onto the course.

wow. Sounds pretty exciting. Too bad about the bad crashes. Don't forget about PCMDaily.com when you make it to the big times.

Me in the race. directly behind, and to my left are juniors, the guy on my left spent 15 minutes on the ground being treated by paramedics after the race. The Juniors kicked ass, we ended up almost working as a team. AJ (the guy behind me) and I spent the entire race up front, A junior you don't see picked the perfect wheel for the sprint, made it through the scrum and finished 3rd.

Today I place 3rd in junior category in race 'Krusnohorske peklo' (Hell of the Severe Mountains) in 'North-Czechia Amateur League'. Two very hard 30km laps (every lap about 700m elevation metres). In second lap I get dropped from the main group on one of the climbs because of bad positioning. Before the last climb my new group almost caught the main, but under the climb I started to have problems with 'shifting changer' (don't know how to say it English ) and lost some time to the first 2 juniors in the main group.... But it's a little success , in last 3 races I was always fourth in junior category :-) |

To put into perpective how hard the race was, 89 guys started 49 finished.

true. this is somewhat typical of crits in our area as well, either due to huge field sizes in the lower categories, or more often than not, crashes.
all said, though, well done all of you. |

Glad racing went well for you Levi, I raced yesterday, was coming up 2nd wheel with about 50m to go, me and 2 other climbers sprinting for the uphill finish and one of them hooked me from the left and there was a 8-10 man pile-up. My bike and rear wheel are destroyed. |
