Dont tell this secret to anyone, but tire wear slows your car down.

We do recieve an extra set of tyres for race though don't we?

untal
For the feature race, yes. For the sprint race, no.

I feel i have an ok setup. Got the setup from the best practice run(first). So now i really hope for a good position in the race..

using a slcik 1:2 instead of 1:1 in the last qual run really paid of for me.

Do you mean that the car reacts differently to 1:2 or 1:1 slicks or did I misunderstood your post? Because there's no difference between 1:2 and 1:1 or 2:1 and 2:2. The first number is the type of tyres and the second one is the number of the tyre set. The second number, per se, has absolutely no effect on the performance of the car.

I think his 1:1 was more worn out than his 1:2.

Probably, but he also takes the risk of the tire being too used and get worse performance. I think the best tire conditions are "Green" and the one immediately after...

I didn't get it. I usually do my qualy with the same set of tires I used for the practice. It's better to change it to a new one?

Waghlon
My tyre strategy for the entire race weekend is simple:

Practice: First set of slicks
Quali: First set of slicks
Warm-up: First set of slicks
Sprint Race: Second set of slicks

And then for feature race i dont use my tires in the warm-up because the benefit of having perfect tires are better than a marginally better set-up,

As I used the rain tyres for the practice none of my slicks had tyre wear, then I took advantage of that, as I used 1:1 for the first two qual laps and then 1:2 for the last.

But still, unless you had a different pace set for each try, there shouldn't have been any major differences between your 1st and 3rd try.

I have 3rd try set to 92, the first for 85 and the 2nd for 75

Yeah, people usually tend to put values like those for the qualifying. And it usually works...

Yesterday I found 20€ on the floor. What did I do? Buy Kool Tools. 15€. The other 5€ are going to charity.

For the qualifying is also very high. I have changed impressions with my teammate in a public game and he says he put values like 75/80 for the qualifying and I put values like 65/70 and I had very pole positions Wink
