Interesting news. I guess it's not a head / title sponsor, though? |

I think it's a replacement for IT Factory. |

I don't think so. It doesn't say so in the news. Had it been a title sponsor, you can be sure that they would have said "Saxo Bank - Vopium" all way through the announcement.
Also, if it was a new title sponsor you'd probably have seen a press conference and all. |

8 former belgian riders will be put on trial for possession of banned substances. They include some who rode for such teams as the ones who are currently named Lotto, Topsport Vlaanderen and Fidea.
During the preliminary hearings to determine whether or not there was enough material to bring this to a full fledged court case, the names of Sven Nys, Bart Wellens, Sven Vanthourenhout and Geert Omloop "came up". Don't pretend like you don't know what I mean by that.

That's the strange thing, there isn't any news about it. It's just known that he won't be with Columbia. |

It's kind of odd he wouldn't stay, lewis is still there...
Maybe bob just didn't see it in him...

He was praised heavily by Columbia DSs at different points of the year.
So there must be a different reason |

It's a weird case. There must be some reason. It would make a little more sense if he had joined a different team, e.g. Garmin, but he hasn't... |

2 german races are saved for 2009
"Rund um Köln" will be a national team race :/ So I think this could be the last race for a while in Cologne
"Rund um den Henninger Turm" will be a HC race , also it will be renamed "Eschborn-Frankfurt City Loop"

Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't he originally on the start list for the US pro championship, but come race time he didn't race.? |

About Köln, I read that the route had been changed - not that it would be a national team race. Are you sure of that? |

Both a new route and national teams have been mentioned on cyclingnews |

He spoke out for the need for a cleaner sport. "I am happy because our team is in the ADAMS project," he said, meaning the whereabouts system used for the biological passport. "So now we are controlled like all the other teams. You can't say any more that we are not tested as much as the other teams. If we can go to a new cycling, a cleaner one, I am happy about that."
- Matteo Priamo, May 15th 2008

Why do you use the search page instead of the front page like everyone else? |

Just this once, actually.
I was looking for Priamo's early statements, and I came across that. |
