Just behind Caisse, which is important. Saunier lost even more, so it's no disaster at all.
Let's see how it pans out with the KoM. I'm not sure i'll go for it yet. |

Giro d'Italia - Stage 2
A hilly stage to kick it of this year. A bit of a hill on the end could see small gaps amerging. Astarloza will have to be vigilant. Egoi Martinez has gone with the breakaway today. 17 riders are coming up on the first and only KoM sprint of the day. Whoever takes this will wear the green climbers jersey.
Martinez relays hard to stay in front and take the sprint, but Phillipe Gilbert has other plans and attacks to claim the sprint.
48,3km to go, despite hard work from Columbia and CSC the break is hanging on to its lead.
18,6km to go and the break still holds a lead of well over a minute. Martinez might have to try something here!
But it's Gilbert who moves first in the breakaway. Martinez tries to follow but Gilbert is too strong. Astarloza tries to gap the peleton in the last 3km.
Gilbert takes the stage, noone could follow his accelleration today. Great win by the young FDJ rider.

Giro d'Italia - Stage 3
Stage 3 is a no fuss sprinterstage, Koldo Fernandez will gun for victory here.
At 60km to go a break of 6 has a 2 minute lead on the pack. Arvesen and Rebellin are here.
25,6km to go and it's allmost over for the 2 fighters. Arvesen just wont give up though. But we're back at the coast and the wind is an issue!
And then all hell breaks loose. The peleton starts breaking up in the wind. It's split in 4! Cunego sparks chaos as he goes down with 9,4 to go.
He sparks a nasty chain reaction as 20+ riders go down throughout the peleton.
Meanwhile the sprinters are struggling to get to the front. Koldo Fernandez picks up the wheel of Milrams Ongarato as he strides ahead of the pack. This is looking good!
But in the end Luca Paolini and Thos Hushovd grab 1st and 2nd as Koldo Fernandez just couldn't pass Ongarato. Valverde & Fofonov manages to pass Fernandez also. (I've no screenshot for this one as it turned out pretty silly. Fernandez shouldve won easily but some sort of bug made him ride "inside" Ongarato which caused them both to slow down to a near halt, and get passed. He then get shot out of the back of him when the game realized that wasn't possible and ended up in 6th)

were there any splits in the end?
if so, where did Astarloza finish and how did it affect the GC?

strange. never had that bug. the only time a rider of mine went through another rider, I won the race. riders in this PCM are far more efficient at choosing paths. they absolutely do not go through another rider unless it's physically impossible to go past without doing it.
And in track mode, it's completely impossible, otherwise the gameplay would suck

That's put you at a real advantage
CSF nearly all lost time and with Cunego and Bruseghin down there's another real advantage

It's actually the first time i've seen any sort of clipping-error. And he did go almost all the way through, both of them stopped sprinting and slowed to no speed, and then BANG, Fernandez flew backwards and Ongarato resumed top speed.. annoying |

Cunego losing time is a definate advantage, Ricco, Valverde and Popovych remain the top contenders though. |

Great story Mads it really is a waypoint for stories in PCM 08.
i really like your reporting and the way you dont expect too much of a team that shouldnt really makes the story believable
If only a certain Iban Mayo would make his return

Hopefully that "malus" in certain months of the year that cyanide said riders have, Valverde has it very negative for the month of may.
And it's not just those guys. Schleck is always at the Giro in this PCM. look at the startlist.
