Excellent story!
How did you take control of Team High Road? editing the save game? ... or just by applying for the job?
I have never played a full season, but I'm on my way (with Team GLS, of course) |

Tirreno-Adriatico
Stage 1
I remember me saying something with Tirreno-Adriatico being my second Pro Tour race of my career, but since it’s not Pro Tour anymore I have to wait until Basque Tour for that to happen. Simultaneously with this we also have a team racing in Paris-Nice and here our team captain Kim Kirchen has won a stage as he is right now 2nd in the GC. Here in Italy our team captain is Thomas Løvkvist who fits the profile perfectly with one mountain stage and a mid-size time trial for him to gain a lot of time. He’s in strong form so we will be looking to keep him safe throughout the first three flat stages.
Eventhough this isn’t Pro Tour anymore it’s a very strong field and my form is still quite poor so my hopes of doing something for Ciolek and Bettini in the sprint today were non-existent.

Ciolek and Bettini managed to position themselves well though.

But Petacchi was always going to win today as Ciolek took 4th ahead of Bettini while I took 79th. Well I have to start somewhere surely and I’m not going to peak until mid-april anyway.

1 Alessandro Petacchi Team Milram 3h40'52
2 Filippo Pozzato Liquigas s.t.
3 Gert Steegmans Quick•Step s.t.
4 Gerald Ciolek Team High Road s.t.
5 Paolo Bettini Team High Road s.t.
6 Enrico Gasparotto Barloworld s.t.
7 Óscar Freire Rabobank s.t.
8 Heinrich Haussler Gerolsteiner s.t.
9 Greg Van Avermaet Silence - Lotto s.t.
10 Elia Rigotto Team Milram s.t.
11 Danilo Napolitano Lampre s.t.
12 Alejandro Valverde Caisse d'Epargne s.t.
13 Jesús Del Nero Silence - Lotto s.t.
14 Oscar Gatto Caisse d'Epargne s.t.
15 René Mandri AG2R - La Mondiale s.t.
16 Carlo Scognamiglio Barloworld s.t.
17 Matteo Carrara Quick•Step s.t.
18 Leonardo Duque Cofidis, Le Crédit par Téléphone s.t.
19 Mirko Lorenzetto Lampre s.t.
20 Fabian Wegmann Rabobank s.t.
79 Jonas Aaen Jørgensen Team High Road s.t.
Stage 2
Another flat stage and so will tomorrow be until we hit some mountains on stage 4. Same mission template for us as yesterday as we will be looking to who’s the strongest on the day of Bettini and Ciolek. I felt very sore after yesterday’s stage but I’m sure that’s because my form is very bad and not because I can’t keep up in fields like these. I believe I proved that in the one-day races I was in prior to this one.
Today I managed to get myself to the front in the finale, but I was working alone as Bettini and Ciolek decided not to follow me, which I can’t blame them.

Bettini wasn’t going to make the cut today but Ciolek was up there and he bursted into the lead for a short period of time before home-favourite Petacchi rode by to take another stage win.

My legs are getting better by the day as I managed to get in 26th today, but I still have a lot of work to do before I’m ready for the Ardennes.

I have Løvkvist, I hope he can do something
And as heads up, this story ins't dead or anyway near it. It's just that I'm in my final and very crucial exams period and I have also been working quite a lot lately, so don't be surprised if this story will stay inactive until mid-july

I would like to continue this. I just want to make sure it has some kind of interest to you after PCM08 has been released. Because I won't bother writing this if it won't be interesting to you.
