New sponsors confirmed - Cervélo and Tineli join The Oz
With The Oz Cycling Project more or less sealing the promotion to ProTour for the 2015 season, the management was busy to attract new partners to sponsor our project for it's toughest challenge in our then fourth season.
But first of all, we're happy to announce the continuation with our long running partners National Australia Bank (nab) and Jayco. Both companies are confident with the team's success in the past two years and we're delighted to keep nab's red star with it's distinctive design on our (soon to be revealed) new shirt. Also Tackling Binge Drinking will stay as the team's sponsor.
Biggest new supporter for The Oz will certainly be Cervélo. We're looking forward to a succesful partnership and really happy to have such a well known company on board! The half Kiwi, half Australian bikewear company Tineli will join Oz, too. And so will Shotz Sports Nutrition.
Those sponsors won't change anything regarding our focus to develop Australia's cycling to a new level.

But it could mean you're not offering contracts to your Chinese riders?

I also think they would be better off on an Asian team. |

Wen Hao Li will stay for sure!
Zhihui Jiang is likely to be available for a loan deal at least..
Pengda Jiao though.. probably to be renewed, but maybe up for grabs

Didn't think it was possible, but the OZ looked to be on a barren spell in the Autumn classics (not too many top 10s), but with two wins in Burkina Faso they quickly fought back I guess!
Some nice looking, unique, new sponsors coming to the team by the looks of it. Good to see the main sponsors stick after such as season. |

@Bjartne: Ricki? Is he finally maxed, btw?
@The Rider: Guess Faso went pretty damn well, yes Should be yet another reason for our sponsors being happy to stick with us (or joining us next year)!
TT as the key: 4 Ozzies in Faso's Top-8!
After some solid, but not too special results in the autumn classics, The Oz was heading for one of it's longest stage-races this season: the African flat (and partly cobbled) Tour du Faso. A race with two timetrials, several panflat stages and at least one challenging cobbled parcours.
The race kicked off with a short prologue, which was taken by our chrono-specialist Michael Ford - ahead of Miles Olman. The two were the clear favorites and delivered.. Opposing to Matthew Goss, who struggled to do anything special in the following three bunch sprints. But he bounced back big time on the fifth day, where he grabbed another stage-win for our team.
Things would go even better on the following stage: the TTT was another chance to claim a stage and with The Oz as the strongest line-up, it came by no surprise, that we indeed took our third stage here. Our guys did not just win, they crushed the competition by more than 30 seconds on the runner-up, lifting five riders into the Top-10 for Oz.
Goss unfortunatelly wouldn't repeat grabbing bonus seconds on the further stages, but at least added three more Top-5 results. The crucial cobbled stage on day nine saw a breakaway group taking line honours, with Lindeman and Vangenechten storming the top of the GC. Jesus Del Nero was one of the most active attackers on the stage, but did not push further once he had a gap.
Anyway, the good news was, that our GC-riders survived the day without bigger damage. Wes Sulzberger - as one of those five - had some bad luck on final day though: his crash inside the final 15km would cost him his best result for The Oz.. with Napolitano and Ciolek too dominate in the bunch sprints, we missed out on a podium, but finished the GC with a stunning 5-6-7-8. In addition to three stage-victories, this is worth a race (more or less) sealing our 3rd place in the PCT!

This is how I like The Oz, lining up right behind our leader where I don't care anymore.
Congratulations for another perfectly executed TTT race (bar Goss' performance maybe)!

It's well deserved to finish behind Ciolek. His consistency had to be rewarded, so I told my guys to keep it easier on the TTT

Really liked your 2014 jersey, so I hope it`s much more similar to this one in comparison to the others.
But I hope it`s still a orange/white/blue mix.
Regarding Faso. Nice top 10 there with half your squad. Really interested in your 2015 PT run. Will be a tough season definitely but depending on your transfers I am sure you can get a few results. |

This seasons was the most 'classy' from a traditionalist standpoint but still with plenty of very defined detailing; I'd assume/hope for something quite similar - it obviously brought more good luck than previous versions!

I was always a 2013 fan I thought this years kit was a nicer design but the 2013 kit was quirky and cool in a strange way haha |

I am also big fan of 2013 jersey, which was really unique with that fancy design, 2014 was more of a "real" cycling jersey. But i will support you in PT in any jersey.

@all: Thanks for the guesses and thoughts on our shirts, too Guess I will "let you guys down" in a way, since I will neither go back to the 2013 style (which I fell in love again, now that you were talking about it) nor keeping our colors from this season...
New shirt revealed - new look for The Oz!
The Oz Cycling Project proudly presents it's new shirt for the team's 2015 campaign, which will see us racing on the highest level of cycling for the very first time. A huge thanks to -Gaz- for creating this new kit and both our old and new sponsors for joining Oz next year.
Talking about the new design, there's one new main feature: the black and yellow colors will surely make for a fresh look. We still wanted to keep some elements on the shirt, which were featured on our previous kits already: the nab-star will again be found, and so will the green/yellow Aussie stripes, which aidanvn13 brought to Oz last year.
Our fans may be irritated to see Oz going from mainly blue/orange (and white) to this new look: blame it on our manager to fall in love with this new scheme. With our 2014 invented Oz-branding still prominent on both the front and the back, our team will proudly represent this project anyway.

I like it. Can't wait to ride next to it in the Pro Tour peloton next season.

Always good for a promoting team to at least have one yellow jersey secured already
