Lovely ceremony, and Stybar with a great, honest interview too. But its really lame to boo Stybar. I think some people even booed Nys at the finish.
Frustrated Belgians standard reaction. When Albert won in 2009 they booed Boom all the way

No offence, but Boom had it coming the way he was talking in the press. Stybar is the deserved world champion, and shouldn't have been booed. He was the best today, and it doesn't matter what he did the rest of the season.

Boom didn't say much wrong in the press imho. It's just typical Belgians take offense to that. Dutch people would never take offense to the same statements by a belgian
On the train home. Great day! 3g didn't work there unfortunately, I guess because of the huge crowd. Stybar was amazing, Nys also Incredibly strong. Pics will be up later tonight

Errr, this WC was in the Netherlands. The audience booed Van Aert in the final lap, so I'm guessing those weren't Belgian...
Either way, booing Stybar is nonsense. He was the strongest by far and he deserved the win.
Stybar totally deserved that WC win. Those who booed him are just frustrated nobodies. Some times you win, some times you loose.
GO, STYBI, GO. Next goal: Paris-Roubaix

Unfortunately, simple-minded people can be found in every country. Everybody should just ignore that and enjoy the race. Just rewatched the race and it was fantastic.

Mate I can tell you most people there certainly weren't from our side of the border They were litterally driven in by touringcars all dressed in yellow Telenet wellies! It was brilliant Didn't hear any booing myself though.
In fact, I was making small talk with a man from near Aalst who was dreaming of a unified Netherlands/Belgium

Stybar is hero, probably the best title fight i have seen in years. I was almost crying when Styby fell, just to celebrate heavily ( i know, very unsportmanlike) few turns after that, when Nys fell too.
Shame we will see the rainbow jersey only in few races next year, but hey, i think CX WC-Roubaix double could be pretty cool huh?
Both rider show some incredible technique, especially that heavily mudded place where Styby was flying!
Nice pics Shorts, thanks for the special one for me, i was wawing with mini-flag too, just in my living room.

I think he somewhere mentioned, that he'll aim RvV much more, 'cause he proved himself in P-R last year.
In my eyes it makes pretty much sense. Å tyby is imo capable of reaching better result than Boonen in Ronde, while I see Tommeke stronger for P-R.

Don't forget nationality bonus
I think Stybar can do well in both Ronde and Roubaix, and other cobbled races, but I do wonder if he didn't peek too early. If his form is this good already, will it still be that way until Roubaix? But then again, I have no idea of his schedule.

Tour of Oman, some one day races on Mallorca...then I have no idea. It will be interesting to see how he'll cope with his form until cobbles. I think he'll cool down at this part of season and start building the form on start/mid March.
And of course he can handle both races very well, but as we all know, Boonen is still undisputed leader.
