Vini Fantini and Team Nippo De Rosa are to merge. They will be a pro continental team.

Not the current pro continental Vini Fantini team though, but Vini Fantini - D'Angelo & Antenucci, their u23 team. Nice way to get rid of Scinto and his staff...

Iljo Keisse got woken up last night for a drug test at 23:30. Seems like the UCI still are sore losers..
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Not quite. Riders have to indicate an hour of their choice per day, and a location to be controlled.
Most must regularly indicate "home" and "23:00-23:59", because they're almost certain to be at home at this time.
If he was asleep... bummer. |

If you scroll down, you'll see pictures of an American cycling fan crying when he gets an autograph from Boonen. |

That's basically saying that as long they get/give money, they don't care. |

Or you know, it could be a guy of Asian decent who happens to live in the USA. Migration and stuff. |

Ben Swift is recovering well from the shoulder operation that ruined basically the whole of his season.

He was in America for one of his sponsors, so yeah, the guy is American.
There's quite a big Asian community in America, you know. |

Theo Bos will race again wednesday and he'll ride the Tour of Bejing. His low cortisol number came due medicins he used against asthma.

Apparently the Alonso Euskaltel deal is on the rocks. Alonso wants to start from scratch with new equipment and staff. The Euskaltel people are obviously not happy with this. This is a Spanish article that apparently says that but I can't read it. If someone can confirm that would be great :

Edit: I found and English article:

Not sure I can follow the Euskaltel people here.
Scenario 1: Alonso starts a new team with Euskaltel's license. May save a few jobs - either way, there'll definitely be a new team which will be interested in Spanish riders / staff.
Scenario 2: The team folds completely, and Alonso doesn't start a new team next year, saving zero jobs. |

Euskaltel doesn't care about how many jobs will be "saved" (which is close to zero amongst the non-cyclists, btw), they just want to get ride of everything related to the ProTeam - like buses, cars, etc. Alonso wants to start from scratch, so he doesn't want all that, and there's the problem.

Oh, of course, another top athlete who just so happens to suffer from asthma, and his medicine just so happens to affect his cortisol levels.
I think I've become too cynical in my old age. |

I know! I'm trying to give myself asthma now, as apparently it's the one thing that is key to being a top athlete
