Low fitness and strong wind made that happen... Finetto did great... Velits is riding his 1st race of the season, we can´t expect too much from him now...
For the mountains we have Barton, maybe we will see Peter going for stage win at the mountains...

STAGE 2
UnitedHealthCare Individual Standings
 C.Barton goes in the earlier break..... 1st climb... 2´03"gap..
2nd climb.... breakaway raises their gap to 5´14"... 12 riders form the break now as some joined before....
Int.sprint.... 56kms to go... 4´33"gap... C.Barton raises the pace in breakaway group..
31kms to go... bad time for  B.Wiggins (52th +10" GC) to have a puncture... escapees are 2´02" away...
20kms to go... breakaway splits in 2 groups.... Barton stays with main one.... peloton is close from the bridge behind....
5kms.... breakaway keeps fighting hard to maintain their gap... peloton is right behind them....
...but they managed to stay in front....  F.Chicchi wins from the break...
B.Wiggins loose 5´43" today...

12 riders in the break today... they go through the only kom sprint in today´s stage... 2´17"gap...
2nd Int.sprint... peloton rides fast with Lampre and SKY controlling the 3´32"gap...
10kms to go... some riders from the break still believe it´s possible to get away from the pack... they will be all caught... mass sprint finish will be...
A.Petacchi wins today...

Astana leads the pack through 2nd climb with 10´27"gap to escapees...
105kms.... GreenEdge leads now with a fast pace... 9´12"gap...
52kms.... last climb for peloton, 5´32"gap...
20kms.... peloton is 3´49" behind...
10kms... C.Barton can´t keep with the break... 4´16"gap to peloton....what´s going on back there?
Last km for escapees...
E.Capecchi wins... Barton finish inside top10...good stage.
Back to peloton with  P.Velits trying to surprise peloton but he will get caught... his fitness is getting better...

Barton is doing great...
STAGE 5
C.Barton goes alone over 1st climb....
2nd climb... G.Brambilla attacked and is 1st on top... Barton is 2nd... M.Montaguti and M.Trentin follow them... 1´35"gap...
Later on, with 5kms to the top of 3rd climb, P.Velits attacks from peloton... escapees are 6´04" away..
3rd climb for escapees... as C.Barton can´t understand italian language, the 3 Italians drop him... he just heard "fangu el culo"... Velits is 4´38" behind.. 73kms to go...
At the descent, Barton choose a strange method to wait for Velits...
P.Velits catch up with C.Barton 5kms before 2nd Int.sprint... escapees are 3´23" ahead, peloton 3´24" behind..
46kms to go, last climb... Astana starts to push hard... 2´43"gap to Velits... 6´24"gap to the front breakaway...
C.Barton can´t help Velits anymore... he has to let go..
10kms to go... P.Velits (-1) is working hard to maintain his 2´27"gap to peloton... escapees are 2´45" in front..
3kms for the breakaway... G.Brambilla attacks....
.. but M.Trentin catch him up within last km...
.. and M.Trentin wins today...
P.Velits lost too much time but still managed to finish ahead of peloton... good stage..

Very entertaining indeed. Too bad Velits couldn't take more time. Are there any mountainstages in T-A this year or is Finetto your captain now?

STAGE 6
After 1st climb 4 riders jump out from peloton...  J.Rujano, C.Barton,  T.Leezer and  R.Taaramäe.... 1´42"gap..
.... as no one was interested to relay, peloton catch them up within 1st Int.sprint.....
After the junction, S.Modolo is the 1st to attack... C.Barton counters.....
More riders start to attack....
Still before 2nd climb, lots of attacks.... one strong breakaway is formed....
Knowing this break can be dangerous, Astana starts to chase them right away... B.Wiggins leads the chase...
2,5kms to the top, Astana brought them back again... C.Barton raises the pace....
At the summit, Barton leads the pack....  Gomes Marchante attacks...
3rd climb.... Gomes Marchante, S.Modolo and  C.A.Sorensen are in front... 2´12"gap...
4th climb... breakaway with 2´42"gap... Astana seems to have this break under control...
...wait... it isn´t Astana who´s controlling the break.... it´s our own C.Barton who leads the pack over the top...now that explains why this gap didn´t got bigger...
83kms to go...  P.Martens, M.Quinziato and  G.Bole attack.... 4´16"gap to main break..
49kms... 2nd Int.sprint, both breaks are now together... 6´46"gap.... what is Astana doing?...it´s easy...as no rider in the break can steal Kolobnev´s leader jersey, they are allowed to ride... Astana is clearly avoiding mass sprint finish... remember that P.Sagan is only 4seconds behind...
24kms... Astana starts only now to raise the pace... 6´58"gap...
Last 5kms... P.Velits attacks...
.. at the front, M.Quinziato wins the stage...
Last km for peloton.... M.Finetto attacks after Velits being caught.... this attack was looking great...Finetto managed to gain 18seconds but unfortunally he was caught over finish line..... we were for couple meters virtual leaders....great.

Bad was the peloton when catch Finetto... ...KOM jersey is ours...
STAGE 7 / LAST STAGE
Peloton gets close to 1st climb without having any breakaway....
After the climb, some riders attacked but they are caught near the 10kms mark....
Peloton reach last km.... mass sprint finish....
... with P.Sagan winning stage and Overall..... great result for him..
