Transfer Update
July 23, 2012
We promised you more news soon and here it is. The squad is really taking shape now, with the management doing a fantastic job in trying to sew up all of our signings as early as possible. First, though, we have some sad news regarding a departure of a key rider at the end of the year.
Rider Out
We tried absolutely everything we could do to keep him but Wilko has decided that this year will be his last at Endura. The 33-year old has scored some superb results this season, including the overall win in Turkey, but, like Iker, wants a new challenge in the twilight of his career. It would appear he's off to Italy and Team WIT next year, a strange choice, but one we fully support.
The disappointment of losing Wilko has been covered by the excitement of two more exciting signings from abroad. Here they are:
Riders In
When Jack Bauer left for Garmin, he left a big Kiwi sized hole in the squad, but that will be filled by young Sam Bewley. The former Radioshack man, another team pursuit rider like Clancy, has been touted as a star and we hope he will fulfil that potential at Endura.
Simon Geschke joins from Project 1t4i as he is surplus to requirements at the Dutch team who will almost certainly be in the World Tour next year. He joins compatriot Voss to increase the German contingent in the squad. A great all-round domestique, Simon should get some chances to ride for himself.
So there you have it, two more young riders hoping to improve at Endura. Stay tuned for some big-name signings in the not too distant future as we finalise next year's squad. We hope you like the new additions.

Absolute genius performance of Bibby in Austria. Proved his capacities as a leader. It seems he's taking a liking to second places, though. I hope to see him move up one more place soon!
This story is like Rear Window for cycling, incredibly exciting. |

Reailly enjoying this story. In my own career with Endura I also signed Lavery and Clancy in my first season. Lavery in particular has turned out to be a great signing and is still a key classics rider in my 5th season. |

Thanks a lot for all the comments
@sutty, hopefully they will.
@Ian Butler, I have noticed that Bibby keeps getting second and thirds, which has got to stop now. Thanks a lot.
@lenny, that's weird, hopefully it will work out as well for me. Thanks, hope you keep enjoying it.
@olabj, I needed a Kiwi and I thought he was the best option! I offered Wilko a huge contract increase (doubled wages!!) but he wants to go to WIT?!
@baia, hopefully it will be, but the two big signings are yet to come.

Firstly, great results for Mr.Bibby throughout the year, he may just become Exxon's first non-national as he's riding himself into a place in my heart
In other news, I'll do that NC for you if you want aswell can't have such a great story being hindered by the standard jersey after all!

baggieboys, that would be amazing if you could make it. I assume you know what you're doing. Bibby is Endura's rider, you can't have him!
@Freitas, he looks a very solid all-rounder, so we should have some fun with him.

Faiers Shows Form in Wallonie
Endura Racing took part in the Tour de Wallonie in Belgium this week with Tom Faiers performing well. With the first stage being the toughest, it was important to get a good result. A group of five got away on the final climb to fight it out for victory. The five were Siutsou, Bakelants, Santambrogio, Faiers and Grabsch. Siutsou took the yellow jersey and would hold on to it for the whole race, taking the win for Sky. Faiers held the white jersey until Ligthart's consistency in the sprints took it off him. A massive crash on stage four took Santambrogio and Grabsch out of the equation as well as bringing down Camano, Tennant and Anderson. In the end, Faiers took sixth place overall as Blythe beat him by one second. A great performance from the young puncher.

Nice to see Endura Racing in Belgium! (mostly thanks to this story) I'm riding a career with Endura myself, and I can't resist racing a lot in Belgium. Maybe Bibby will show his face and talents once here. Though with the lack of mountains, there's not much here for him. |

Transfer Update
July 30, 2012
With July coming to a close, next year's Endura squad is now complete, unless another suitable, affordable rider falls into our path later on. As we told you earlier, these are two more riders from abroad who will bring very different skills to the table. Both will be team leaders, here they are:
Riders In
The team's only Belgian joins from Cofidis and will provide us with a genuine chance of success in the tough Flandrian races. As good as he is on the cobbles, his speciality is probably against the clock, as he is the current Belgian TT champion. Big talent.
*Star Signing*
What a coup this is for Endura Racing! Saur-Sojasun's Jonathan Hivert will join us in January and whilst a lot of people will raise their eyebrows at why Jonathan would want to come to Endura, we think it proves our ambition and where we want to go. A superb punchy climber with a good sprint, Hivert will be a big rider for us next season.

Wow, two incredible contracts! A Belgian (a decision I respect deeply from the management) and a very great French rider. A real plus for the team. Although, the French do have a reputation of not speaking English too well, you might send him on a learning course before sending him on a training camp. |

July 31, 2012 - Circuito de Getxo
Race Preview
Ian: "A one day race in Spain which is classed as flat but the circuit contains one very steep climb as well as other little ramps. Therefore it will probably come down to a battle between the punchers and sprinters on the final lap."
Ian: "Our leader here is JTL but his form is very questionable as he begins the second half of his season. Because of that Downing will be the focus of the team's attentions while JTL goes for it on his own. Camano might do something aswell on home soil."
Ian: "I start this race as a team mate but if JTL's shape is a problem, I will take his role and go for a late attack. My fitness is still pretty good despite having three weeks off since Austria. If none of the above happens, I'll work for Russ."

Ian: "The organisers believe it will be a bunch sprint, so they make Boivin, Downing, Vachon and Obst favourites. But the likes of Cesar Veloso, Lastras, Baugnies and Markus Fothen might want to give it a go on one of the climbs."
Race Report
The breakaway formed very early today and it eventually contained ten riders. Wetterhall was in there showing off his new jersey which he is very proud to wear. Other riders included Klimov, Edgar Pinto and Atapuma.
The chasing was being done by NetApp with a bit of help from Andalucia and NSP. The bunch was flying along and the steep climb was causing problems for the weaker climbers. Downing looked in great shape.
On the penultimate lap, Tiernan-Locke decided that now was the time to get away. He went past the original breakaway but took a few riders with him. Wetterhall knew what he needed to do and gave JTL everything. Boivin was the only other rider to try an attack but the Canadian sprinter got nowhere.
But on the tough climb on the final lap, the four remaining escapees, including Wetterhall and Tiernan-Locke were caught. With seven kilometres to go, it looked like it would be a bunch sprint and Downing got himself to the front in preparation.
But Endura had one last plan up their sleeves. With the peloton visibly slowing, it was Bibby's turn to give it a go with five kilometres remaining. The Brit got thirty seconds but would the sprinters' teams bring him back.
No, they wouldn't and Bibby could celebrate his first professional win as the peloton just gave up. He couldn't quite believe it as he crossed the line thirty seconds ahead of the sprinters. Incredibly, Downing won the mass sprint to clinch a 1-2 for Endura Racing. Another supreme day.

"YEEEEAAAAHHH!!! I could feel my first victory coming but I certainly didn't expect it to be in a flat one day race! I was at the front when JTL got brought back and I just remembered what the team said about me being allowed to attack and went for it. I wasn't feeling too confident but I looked behind me under the flamme rouge and there was nobody there. I was able to properly enjoy it, celebrating for the last 400 metres! At least that's out of the way now, it's a big milestone, to get your first win and now I can relax and enjoy racing. Get in!!!"
