Yeah, I was wondering whether to try and free up my calender to try and ride the vuelta but I have a couple of nice continental races at the same time so I am not sure if it is worth it.

Being a new team you'd have to sign someone very very very good to be able to get a wildcard in a grand tour. Like Contador.

Or Valverde. It also of course depends on who else applies for a wild card etc.

I would suggest prize money in PT races so CT teams have a big reason why they should take part there and the PT teams gain more money so there would be the chance of having more money and more money to spend out for the big teams in the PT, because in the CT they haven´t got so much money then the PT teams in real life so it would be more realistic but also more work to count the gained money
The 3 GTs will have the most money to dispense
Then the classics Milan-San Remo etc.
Then the stage races like Paris-Nice etc.
My suggests :

2nd 750€
3rd 500€

1st 75.000€

I have a couple of CT teams that could get Wildcards:
British Airways - Denis Menchov, Stijn Devolder, David Millar and Sylvain Chavanel (Perfect for the Tour de France)
Jack Wolfskin - Kim Kirchen (Perfect for Classics)
NVidia Intel - Gianpaolo Caruso, Mikel Astarloza and Leif Hoste (Perfect for Giro d'Italia and Cobbled races)
Olympus AirAsia - Cadel Evans (Perfect for Tour de France)
Santander - Alejandro Valverde (Perfect for La Vuelta a España)
Sony Ericsson - Sergio Ghisalberti, Yuri Trofimov, Dmitri Medvedev, Paride Grillo and Santo Anza (Perfect for Giro d'Italia)
Team Starbucks - Tom Danielson and Vladimir Efimkin (Perfect for La Vuelta a España)
Vespa - Caffé - Francesco Ginanni (Perfect for hilly classics)
WalMart - Alessandro Ballan and Bernhard Eisel (Perfect for Cobbled races)
Wiggle - Rinaldo Nocentini and Leonardo Bertagnolli (Perfect for Giro d'Italia)
Wii Racing - Janez Brajkovic, Stefan Schumacher and Michael Albasini (Perfect for Tour de France and hilly classics) |

Overall, I agree that there should be some sort of incitatement for the CT teams to try and get wild cards for PT races. |

Several things wrong.
-Pro Tour teams don't get money for races.
-The continental tour has more money than the pro tour this season.
-The continental teams have a lot of great riders this year.
-It's a crap idea.
-It increases the work that has to be done in working out finances by a lot.
-It's unfair on teams that don't get more than one wildcard.
-It's unfair on teams that don't get into a monument or a GT.
-It's unfair on the new teams (not that I care) as they are less well developed/rounded as a team and so their teams will be looked down upon in wildcard choices.
-It's not a very good idea.
-I'd much prefer points.

you suggest points as an alternative but surely that is even more unfair to teams who don't get the big races.
I feel that as long as you have a situation where you don't take away race days for wild card positions it will never be fair to those who only get the small classics

Unless the wildcards have no relevance to the game other than for fictional sponsorship happiness. So why not just keep it the same way as it is. And it's actually fairer on teams not in grand tours as during those periods the better CT riders will be not racing in the CT but the PT.
