If he will not cry after a year, that he needs other team.

Well, he couldn't guarantee that, could he?
If he ever starts shitting about Boonen, I will go down to his house and kick his ass, not kidding |

Wow, that is a really good signing for them. He hasn't done a lot at Katusha, but with a step down he might be able to get his career on track again.

I agree. It can't do him any harm, anyway. He'll probably ride some excellent .1 and .2 Belgian races, no? |

Yeah they need a new leader with De Waele leaving. Amorison will probably take on overall leadership in cobbled classics with Commeyne getting a lot of other classics leadership. Stallaert and Claeys will get a lot of sprint leadership.
What the team really needs is someone who can do the hilly stage races and that's where Vantomme comes in, leading at races like Ronde van Belgie. He will also likely work with Commeyne in the hilly classics.

I did not know Vantomme is any good in hilly terrain, my view is probably mixed by his unglorious man-game sprinting orientation.

When is the last date for transfers, actually? When does the new season officially starts, with the right teams and riders? Is it by any coincidence 25th of October like in PCM? |

Haha yeah I know what youu mean but he has a top 15 at Brabantse Pijl, a 10th at RvBelgie and a few other hilly results. But he still has a decent kick like his 6th from a lead group of 22 at Le Samyn shows.
@ Ian Butler - Applications are still open for next season... barely. But the start will most likely be end of the year.

He's a great addition for Landbouwkrediet anyway, it's mutual beneficial, imo |

Ah of course, but coming after Avin's post it confused me.

Yeah, I should've been clearer on that
So anyone know when that is, in real life? |

You can sign riders up until January basically. There's really no end date as such I believe.
After failure of Pegasus most of its riders found a team in January eg. Knees was signed up by Sky in middle of January.

Glad my inside info was right as I hoped it would.
Eisel extends for another 3 years.

Ah! So OPQS found a way around having a max of 30 riders - sign one on at a different team!

You can sign any rider whenever, as long as you stay within the bounds of how many riders are allowed on a squad (so PT teams can have only 30 riders + 2 staigares). If a rider already has a contract and is riding for a different team when you sign him, they his new contract can't start until the old one would end (so the rider can't quit his old team and join his new one), and you can't announce it until August 1st of the year his old contract runs out. Lastly, In August and later you can sign staigares for the remainder of the season.
PCM is bull in this way. I don't know why they don't use the actual rules. |

Saxo Bank never carries a full slate.
But they did manage to get someone else to pay him. |

Didn't Cav and Eisel start the trend at the Olympics? I seem to remember a certain Austrian taking turns for a certain Brit...
