Garmin - End of 3rd Season - Continue in PCM11
roturn
Thanks all. I think my team should be very competive the next season and more American. Wink

With 73/79 you can handle a top 10 in the Vuelta in PCM. Wink As Freitas said, the career was started between Tour and Vuelta. So just the 15th TdF for his stats.
I also hope for some nice results.

Great signing!

Thanks. Hope this will give me the luck in the Ardennes I missed in the last two seasons.

Before next report one more AI signing. I planned to make an overview later but this one is quite big, so it deserves a special announcement.

Mark Cavendish signed with Team Liquigas. So HTC is losing their tops sprinter and also Greipel hasn`t renewed his contract yet. After Goss in 2011 they lose another big sprinter in 2012.
With Liquigas McEwen retires and Chicchi signed with Katusha. Also the future of Sagan and Bennati aren`t secured yet. But with at least Cavendish, Sabatini, Guarnieri and Kump they will still be one of the strongest sprinter teams, espeically if Bennati is renewing.
Also interesting to see how HTC reacts now.

Tour de France - Stage 10
La Chatre - Puy de Dome

After some flat stages a hard mountain top finish. The way towards the final climb is quite flat, so we expect a big peloton starting the climb. Hopefully Sanchez and Fuglsang can perform well here.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-2.jpg
8 riders in the break of the day. We decided not to send a rider as there aren`t many mountain sprints and also no big chance for a successful day for them.
Caruso (Katusha), Martinez, Castroviejo (Euskaltel), Cornu (Skil), Loubet (Ag2r), Bennati (Liquigas), Roux (FDJ) and Van Avermaet (Omega).

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-3.jpg
Astana and Sky are doing the pace in the peloton. Obviously Contador and Wiggins feel very strong. Schleck`s Leopard and Martin`s HTC team are still waiting.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-4.jpg
Astana leads with Velits, Soler and Grivko into the climb. Unfortunately I was surprised by the very narrow roads and with the PCM gameplay I couldn`t handle to bring Sanchez and Fuglsang in good position as they are on 20th position now.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-5.jpg
Rabobank`s Ten Dam with the first attack. He made a good improvement and is aiming a top15 here.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-6.jpg
After catching him Wiggins attacks. This looks much more powerful. Now the other favourites have to react.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-7.jpg
There he is. Alberto Contador jumps to him.
Other riders like A.Schleck, Van Den Broeck and Kreuziger are trying to follow but can`t find the contact.
Sanchez can`t follow as he is still blocked behind several riders. Damn PCM gameplay on these narrow roads. Fuglsang is even a bit further back. Both of them would have the energy to accelerate.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-8.jpg
That`s a surprise. Contador can`t oversprint Wiggins and so the Brit is winning this hard mountain stage and also the yellow jersey. Both of them are gaining time today on the other favourites.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-10-9.jpg
What a shame. Our leaders couldn`t start worse into the mountains. Sanchez is losing almost 2min today, Fuglsang even 30s more.
Next mountain hopefully has wider roads. Otherwise I need to position them better.

Hate those roads.. Could you post Wiggins' stats?

roturn
I know. They can be annoying. Hope this will be fixed with PCM11.
Wiggins has 80mo/75hi/80TT.

Batista15
Pity, you were so unlucky there!
But it´s quite interesting..Contador vs. Wiggins!? Schleck couldn´t follow..mhh. It´s an exciting Tour, can´t wait for the next mountain stages Smile
Good luck for you there.

WTF Wiggins winning a mountain stage ? Shock Really unlcuky, usual PCM then. Looks to be very intresting Tour though. Good luck on the following stages.

Next mountain hopefully has wider roads.

They has Pfft

Bad luck.. check the next stages with stage-viewer Wink I'm sure that LLS will fight back from this loss today!

Thanks all for the comments. Really appreciated. Indeed a pity that Sanchez wasn`t able to be better. But still top 10.

Thanks Emmea for this advice. I had narrow roads in my 2008 Tour, too, but since I realized that PCM can`t handle them, I avoided them on mountains and just for hills or cobbled races as they are needed there.

Only the 3 km of final in sarroqueta and the descent of alpe d'huez, it seems me, has narrow roads Wink don't remember if also briançon

@ emmea: Good to know. Wink
@ mowinckel: Still inside top 10. We`ll see later.
@ Anonymer: Agree with you. Wiggins always seems to be in top shape for the Tour.
@ BikeRoel: Thanks. Hope so, too. The hardest stages are still to come.

Tour de France - Stage 11
Bordeaux - San Sebastian
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-11-1.jpg
Today we make a short stop in Spain, especially San Sebastian. You probably know these hills from the San Sebastian Classic in the end of July.
It could be another day for riders like Sagan or Boasson Hagen. But maybe some favourites try to attack here.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-11-2.jpg
Quinziato (Katusha), Drujon (Movistar), Goesinnen (Skil) and Guillou (Ag2r) in the break today. But with just 4 riders there on this long stage it will be hard against all the teams behind.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-11-3.jpg
Sky is doing a lot of work for Boasson Hagen and race leader Wiggins, but also Rabobank is supporting them. Maybe Martens could suit this profile but also Ten Dam showed his ambitions yesterday.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-11-4.jpg
With just 1min advance the group starts the longest climb of the day. On the very steep part Quinziato has enough and attacks.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-11-5.jpg
But they had no chance. The peloton caught them on top of it.
On the last smaller climb Luis Leon Sanchez with an attack. He wants to try to get some time back.
Just Nibali, Anton and Kreuziger are following him. No Contador, Wiggins or Schleck to see.
Together they start the descent and the final kilometers.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-11-6.jpg
But the peloton was close behind them, so they had no chance.
Peter Sagan with a favourite win today. He was expected to be one of the strongest in a sprint finish. But also Haussler surprised most of us with his 2nd today ahead of future Garmin rider Roche. He had absolutely no problems on the climb, while Fuglsang with -5 struggled a lot today and was happy to stay in the group.

Great 2nd by Haussler.. quite a surprise, but nice Smile

Haussler is just getting stronger and stronger in this tour! A stage win seems realistic now!

Thanks all.
Haussler was indeed strong. But a stage win is not very probably as there is just one flat stage left. Wink We`ll see how many sprinters are left until then. But I think Boonen, Sagan, Boasson Hagen, Davis and Bennati won`t have big problems until then.

Nice second. Haussler's shape is getting better. Smile
