Garmin - End of 3rd Season - Continue in PCM11

Wow, again Tom Boonen! He´s in a great shape...

tsmoha
Well, it could have been worse Wink A 4th with Haussler is still a nice result, although we all wanted to see him winning a stage here! Nice win(s) in Austria, too! Garmin was dominating there!

Still Poitiers then it will come interesting Grin

Too bad the pace is so high! Maybe you should just follow Boonen?

That was absolute dominance inthe Tour of Austria. Pit about Haussler but I think you'll be doing fine in the overall standings. I think you can manage that top 10 with no troubles.

wow! what a cathegorical win Banana rojas and martin were almost unbeatable Grin

Alakagom
Typical dominance from Garmin at Austria. And Haussler is getting better very stage. Hope Sanchez will take yellow for at least couple of days. Will make all the effort worth it from your team Wink

Nice wins with Martin in Austria. Hard stages too. Wink

Thanks all for the comment.
Boonen indeed very strong as always during the Tour.
Austria was indeed very successful again. A pity that Stetina lost contact in the end. But still great.

Tours - Poitiers

Another qutie flat stage. It`s also one of the shortest with just 141km. So the sprinters might get a last chance before the mountains start. But with hard last 10km with some climbs I am not sure how good the pure sprinters can do today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-9-2.jpg
So we decided to send a guy into the break of the day. Millar tried it twice but was caught both times. Meyer had more luck and so he is showing our sponsor today.
Freire (Rabobank), Bernucci (Colnago), Veelers (Skil), Brulmans (Omega), Roulston (Omega), Leukemans (Quick) and Gallopin (FDJ) are his companions.

Sky for Boasson Hagen and HTC for Cavendish are doing the pace. The young Norwegian is indeed one of the top favourites today. Quickstep can again relax as they have a guy in the group.

10km ahead of Poitiers the group is caught. Meyer had no chance and not sure if he can get another chance as we expect him in the gruppetto fighting for the time limit in the next stages.

Although there were some hills in the final all sprinters were able to follow. Allan Davis was the strongest and wins ahead of Mark Cavendish. But then LL Sanchez shows his good form as 3rd after riding to the front on the hill. Also Haussler as 4th again and Fuglsang as 7th were doing great.
Now the riders can relax on the first rest day tomorrow before starting with the hard climbs.
Later we saw a big split in the peloton caused after an acceleration on the last hills.

Riders that lost time: Monfort, F.Schleck, Porte, Evans, Gesink, Brajkovic, Soler (+ 1'54)

Nice to see Boasson Hagen doing well! Maybe he can snatch some points on the more hilly routes!

Pity there aren't any time bonuses. Great Tour of Austria! Love the Phinney signing and best of luck in the mountains!

@ DJP19: I am quite happy that there aren`t. I was once on the podium. Other riders in the top 10 will be more often I think.
@ mowinckel91: Actually the more hilly profiles are already ridden. Most of the following stages might be too hard for him. Maybe on 1-2 stages with a good daily form.
@ sam1196:It will be very hard. But hopefully LLS can finish as close as possible with them and ahead of Martin. Only chance to jump into yellow in this Tour.
@ BikeRoel: Thanks.

One last transfer to announce and he is for sure no American. Wink

Nicholas Roche will give us another opportunity in hilly races, especially in the Ardennes, where he performed very well so far. So our stage racer don`t have to exhaust in this races and can concentrate on the GT`s. Roche will definitely be our leader in the 3 Ardennes classics aiming for a top 10. He can also be one of the great domestiques in hard races and riding as leader in one week races such as Paris-Nice or Tirreno-Adriatico.
His palmares are also quite good and hopefully he can continue like this in our team.

2010:
1st Ireland Championship Road & TT
2nd Amstel Gold Race
7th Paris - Nice
7th Tour of Pologne
2nd Route du Sud
3rd Tour du Haut Var + 1 stage
3rd Tour du Limousin
3rd Tour de Mediterraneen
5th Tour of Austria
2nd Route Adelie de Vitre
4th Giro dell Apennino
4th Gran Premio Miguel Indurain
10th Paris - Camembert
10th Brabantse Pjil

2011:
10th Fleche Wallone
10th Paris - Nice
11th Liege - Bastogne - Liege

2012:
1st Ireland Championship Road & TT
4th Fleche Wallone
7th Amstel Gold Race
15th Liege - Bastogne - Liege
9th Vuelta a Pais Vasco
11th Tirreno - Adriatico
5th Tour du Haut Var

Isn't 73 mountain a bit low for someone who finished 7 in spain and 15 in france ?
Great signing anyway and great domination in austria

But he started his career before that, roturn mentioned it some pages ago. Wink

Good signings. Roche will be a great leader for the April classics. Smile
