Well, the first half of the Tour of Britain was challenging enough, and aggressively raced, to make it a worthwhile enough preparation. But pan flat stages are no good to anyone.
I guess it does at least encourage participation in the Vuelta, or the new Canadian races, when the Tour of Britain is the only category 1 or above stage race that runs alongside the Vuelta.

Tour of Britain stage 6
Andre Griepel won.
Boring stage, boring winner. But of course, its a flat stage in a smaller stage race - Greipel's favourite
Exactly.
The problem here is that there's no credible alternative to the Vuelta. There's only a few classics as far as decent-sized races go, as preparation for the worlds.
I still don't get why they moved Poland. It was fine where it was.
Poland had a nice place on the calendar, I thought it was a nice place anyway.
The Tour of Britain, I see it as good worlds preparation, this years strong field field and better route than usual have seen a noticably better race. Well done to the organisers on it.

The TOB should be a PT race IMO. Because it seems to have a lot of potential and it sits on a nice calender place

As much as the TOB as PT would please me personally. It won't happen, and I'll tell you for why:
-The organisation still has a lot to learn, but the good side of that is, every year they are learning quite a lot
-British domestic teams can take part right now, they get blown out of the water (mostly, we do have some domestic guys who really should be riding at a higher level though).

A British ProTour race would be nice, but I like the Tour of Britain how it is - allowing the mix of domestic teams with ProTour/ProConti.

Good point SNonsense, that's also what I always sayt about the ENECO Tour, it was more interesting when it was still the Ronde van Nederland and when it still had a good few domestic teams in, and a general more dutch/belgian field than international.
I'd rather have ENECO Tour like Britain, a 2.1 or 2.HC status and a mix of PT/PCT/CT teams |

Tour of Britain ended in a sprint so you can guess who won.
2 Lucas Sebastien Haedo (Arg) Team Saxo Bank
3 Roger Hammond (GBr) Cervelo Test Team
4 Greg Henderson (NZl) Sky Professional Cycling Team
5 Borut Bozic (Slo) Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team
6 Robert Wagner (Ger) Skil - Shimano
7 Russell Downing (GBr) Sky Professional Cycling Team
8 Edward Clancy (GBr) Motorpoint - Marshalls Pasta
9 Marco Frapporti (Ita) Colnago - CSF Inox
10 Zak Dempster (Aus) Rapha Condor - Sharp
Bozic and Henderson seemed to forget to sprint until right at the end, and never had any chance of winning.

What a useless, and ignorant post.
Id explain why, but its not worth the effort - so Ill only suggest you actually look to see what happened in the race.
