Wow, what a Tour of California I had in my Garmin career!
It was an important goal for my sponsor so I wanted to win it badly. But then I saw Richie Porte was there. Not good!
I rode a great race and excellent time trial (1-2 for Dennis and Talansky). If not Porte, I would have totally dominated this race. After TT I had Talansky 1st in GC 8 secs ahead of Porte. I felt a little bit disappointed because I had some bar of energy left at the end of TT so it could be a few seconds more. It turned out that little bit of bar left was crucial. On Mount Diablo stage Porte beat Talansky by 10 seconds so had 2 seconds advantage in GC! Talansky 2nd, Dennis 3rd overral and young rider jersey, KOM jersey for Brown and lead in team classification. That would be quite a domination without Porte.
I thought I lost that race. The last stage was flat. I knew I had to try to win an intermediate sprint, because there was nothing to lose. How happy I was when I found out there are some steep hills at the beginning of that flattish stage! I was riding hard from the beginning. Van Baarle and Hansen ensured nobody rides too far away until those hills come. Then Wegmann set a big pace on those hills. Only 9 riders managed to hang onto, including him, Dennis, Talansky, Slagter, Porte, Zandio, Sagan, Gilbert and Villela. I had around a minute of 50-man peleton and OPQS was chasing hard for Cavendish. Luckily, Slagter had a daily form of +5 which helped massively to maintain the gap. 7kms before the intermediate sprint I attacked by Talansky. Sky didn't react and Sagan tried to chase for a while but resigned. I won the intermediate sprint and Sagan came 2nd so I knew I would win the race unless something crazy happens at the finnish!
Then pace went down big time and peloton was back to have 100-men again, which was good, because that ensured there would be some sprinters in the group to prevent Porte from taking a time bonus at the finish. As it did happen and I won the race by 2 seconds!

Awesome work!
Also a sad day. Contador retiring at the end of the season. Just in time for PCM14? |

My Garmin career keeps evolving nicely. I finished 3rd in Giro by Hesjedal. Shame he couldn't win a stage. When I crossed the line during MTT, I had 2 minutes on the next rider so I thought the win would be mine, but Nibali edged it by a dozen of seconds. Then on the Zoncolan Hesjedal rode away from everybody, but Monfort from breakawy was able to keep the unbelievable pace and win it in front of Ryder. At least I gained 4 minutes on those 2 stages on Mollema and was able to beat him for the podium. Nibali and Froome were unreachable, but maybe if Ryder peaked with his form a week earlier, then 2nd place could be possible. At least I got my goal done (top5) and I also won the stage with Danielson.
Now I play Dauphine and the sponsor goal was to win the stage and I managed to win the reduced sprint from 35-man peloton on mountain stage (but flat finish) with Dennis. Rohan leads young-rider classification and sits 2nd in GC and Talansky 8th. I also have Danielson in good shape so I'm not sure who should I protect on the last, very mountainous stage. Dennis and Danielson both have form 1 with Danielson having an edge in MO skill but Dennis is better positioned in GC after time-trials. Talansky is in theory the strongest of them, but his form is only 3. So whoever I support, I my regret my decision, but I'll probably go with Talansky, since he seemed to have the smaller pulse when the road went uphill on the previous stages, but it was not that obvious, the advantage neither was big nor consistently appeared. |

Won Tour of Haut Var with Matthews. Got a solo break on stage won and hung on with the leading group on stage 2.
Won a stage a Tour of Algarve with a solo break from Santaromita. Was down on GC, attacked with 40 k to go and the peleton just sat up once they caught the other guys from the break. Gerrans in 3 race days so far this year has three podiums, including a 2nd position at Bianche, and a win at Roma Maxima.
Weening finished 2nd at Langkawi, whilst Kroupis got 2 stages and the points jersey. |

Won Tour Down Under for the second consecutive time in a row! Kiserlovski now is in the history books as the most winning rider in TDU (together with Greipel and Gerrans)

So just borrowed a save with BMC, and were at the Tour de France, in the strongest lineup
Here is the startlist , many of the favorites are injured , which means there will be plenty of options to get a podium with Tejay
Won the second stage with Gilbert and I am now in the leaders jersey :

So i'm playing on extreme for I think the first time since 2/3 years. (play on hard normally because I think extreme is just too unfair).
Man is that a challenge. I actually have to suffer every stage to just keep Gesink barely in the top 10 of the TDF (with the pcm daily db stats, so 76 mo..)
Also, Froome decided to suck for some reason. I'm thinking they set his form peak to Vuelta or he got sick/injured. Because he is abnormally weak |

As it turned out, I didn't need to worry much about who should I support in Dauphine:
https://pl.tinypic...5gZunbD3cs
And Gaimon also won mountain classification. Also 2 stage wins for me. Talansky was only on 3 form so perhaps I couldn't do much more to win this race, so I'm happy to have taken all the opportunities from this race.
And I won a flat stage on Tour de Suisse by Hesjedal.

EDIT:
I don't know what's going on. I couldn't beat Mohoric (68MO) with Acevedo (76MO) from a breakaway on a mountain stage. It's a fact that Janier had a -5 daily form, but to be beaten by that much weaker rider? He didn't even relay most of the time so it shouldn't be a problem of wasted energy.

Form? Mohoric in form 1 vs Acevedo form 4 + Daily form -5 might favour Mohoric.
Or your tactics are screwed up

Acevedo was on form 3 IIRC. Still that was good enough to finish 11th overall in the race, so he really should be able to beat Mohoric on that stage. I doubt my tactic could be that much wrong, as I said earlier, he barely made any relays in this breakaway and I didn't use attacks as well.
But well, if he was -5 on daily form, that was quite realistic, so I'm okay with that. But I didn't have any other case in this game that any rider was able to overcome the difference of 8 in the MO skill, no matter how much the circumstances did favour him. |

No. Mohoric is just too good for PCM. Deal with it.

4th at Milan San Remo with Gerrans.
Won Stage 2 of Volta a Catalunya with Impey. Managed to get over the final category 1 climb with 40 k to go and sprinted to victory quite easily. |

This is my favorite part of this site. So great stories here and well described.
I thought it was the time to share my 1st season with Tinkoff (2014DB). It was quite a successful season with some great cycling moments, attacking all the way. Highlights:
- Contador won Paris-Nice, Catalunya and Vuelta. Got injured in Dauphiné and couldn't go to the Tour. I believe I could I've won it easily;
- Kreuziger had a good season but it could be great. 2nd at Basque Country, Top-10 in all the Ardennes, 2nd at the Tour (only lost the lead to Froome in the last TT by 30 seconds. Had he a bit more ACC and he could have won) and 2nd at San Sebastian. He was a bit unlucky;
- Majka got a nice 3rd at the Giro.
- Roche finished 5th at the Vuelta;
- Rogers proved to be one of the greatest domestiques all season, setting a fabulous pace for Kreuziger at the Tour and helping Contador in Vuelta. He won the TDU which was great.
All in all, it was a good season. Only brought to new 2 guys. An awesome Kazakh regen and Taylor Phinney to help Breschel in the classics and win TT's.
Tinkoff ends the contract this year. Let's see what happens in this area.
I play on hard.
Cheers guys.

@cunego59,
Hahah. Thanks. Got it wrong. This is what happens when you watch the WC game and write in here.
Also, do you have any career going? Just curiosity. |
