Garmin - End of 3rd Season - Continue in PCM11

Tour de France - Stage 7
Le Havre - Le Mans

Hopefully Haussler can show his form today after missing his chance yesterday. He won`t get many chances, so he has to take the few possible.

Again a group of a few riders attacked very early.
Paolini (Colnago), Grabovskyy (Farnese), Posthuma (Rabobank), Vaitkus (RadioShack), Drujon (Movistar), Roux (FDJ), Petacchi (Omega), Goesinnen (Skil) and Guillou (Ag2r).

Obviously Boonen is feeling very strong again. He was in top form last year and after yesterdays win also this year. So his team mates are working a lot to catch the group.

60km and 5min for the break. Time for HTC and Liquigas to support them. Also Garmin is showing the jerseys in the first rows.

With 10km to go the break is over. The riders had no chance against the sprinter teams. Haussler still has a nice position having Cavendish`s wheel. Hopefully this will work out today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/tdf-7-6.jpg
Tom Boonen takes his 2nd win. He was faster than Boasson Hagen and Davis in the end. Unfortunately Cavendish had a bad form today and so Haussler`s position was also very bad.
But most annoying was that he had energy left but just couldn`t overtake some of the riders ahead of him. Really annoying finish today and so just the 12th for him.

Do you use patch 1.0.4.1?

Bad Haussler could'nt keep up.

cunego59
Doesn't look good for the green jersey Sad Good luck for the next stages anyways. Hopefully Sanchez can keep a good overall position.

roturn
Yes. 1.0.4.1. And the sprints work. Just a weird sprint here. Probably he was blocked. Who knows. Wink
Jersey is gone for sure now. It would have been hard nevertheless but with 2 just average results no chance now.

FreitasPCM
Haussler was hit by bad luck. :/

BoogieBoogie
Very nice job with Sanchez placed 2nd. If you need some special yellow Garmin equipment just ask Wink

I don`t think I can get the yellow jersey during this TdF. Wink But thanks for the offer.
The only missing thing are the Garmin-Cervelo leadershirts as I still have Transitions in my folder.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/07%20July/Murphy.jpg

Murphy is the last American and also the last BMC rider, who will join our squad in the next season. As said BMC won`t have an American license in the next season.
He will be a good domestique on flat stages, while he will struggle on everything uphill.
In 2012 he had some decent results such as 4th in the Grand Prix Pino Cerami, 5th in Eschborn-Frankfurt and a 12th in the GP Cholet.

So 2 open transfers left. They will be announced later.

vangerner
Good transfer I think, hopefully he has a little bit potential left...

tsmoha
You made BMC deserving not to get an American license Wink No, just kidding.. again a nice transfer, really like them so far... too bad that Haussler had this weird and chanceless sprint..

So you think you can get in another leader jersey?

Why don't you try and set up your own sprint train instead of taking someone else wheel? I think Van Summeren with his high flat stat could be a decent lead-out.

roturn
@ Vangerner: I am not sure about him but most important is that he can help our leaders.
@ tsmoha: Indeed. Lots of their Americans had no contract and so I decided to change their Nationality and transfer priorities.
@ Boogie: I might go for the KoM jersey, but Spilak collected lots of points on the first 2 hard stages. So not sure about this. Also Contador etc. will get lots of points on all the MTF.
@ shin0da: This was my plan actually. But first of these stages was too hilly in the end and 2nd to windy. So Vansummeren had to protect him after all other helpers were already out of the peloton. Hopefully the next stages aren`t that hard and Vansummeren and Hunter can support him in the final.

Two sprints still then the "boring" part of this tour will be ended Smile
Have you notice that in this tour there are final part of three classics? Roubaix, Paris-Tours and San Sebastian? Pfft

Do you think that a GC-contender might end up winning the green jersey?

roturn
@ emmea: I have noticed PR and San Sebastian. Tours I still have to find. Wink
@ VladuuTs: Hope so, too. But also I hope for one good stage with Haussler. His form should make him to a stage win aspirant.
@ Boogie: Thanks a lot for this jersey. Now I have to go for the KoM ranking of course. Vansummeren & Fuglsang are asked now. Also thanks to VDV for another great jersey.
@ mowinckel: I suppose so, yes. There are just too many mountain top finishes in this variant for the sprinters. So it`s the first Tour in this career without a sprinter in the green jersey.

Not sure if I am able to post another report today. I will have some guest this evening making a party. So I have lots of things to do over the day.

1. Your Story is great!

2. This variant is very hard! I played it, too. One stage has a big surprise for you Wink

roturn
@Andi: Thanks a lot. I will watch out for this surprise.

Well, one more to come.

With Taylor Phinney we were able to sign one of our most favourite riders. He is one of America`s future big. With just 22 he is already a decent time trialist. Our scouts are also sure that he has still potential in his sprint and cobble skills. So he will be an important part of our team. Together with Felline, Dao and Souchon we now have some of the biggest talents in cycling.

His biggest result was one stage win in the 2011 Amgen Tour of California. He also was 3rd in this year`s American ITT Championships.
In his Youth career he was already very successful as ITT World Champion and winner of the U23 Paris Roubaix.
This was definitely a great signing as many other teams also wanted him.
