Wow, can someone explain me what was the reason for Alex Howes to work today? He was 9th yesterday for the whole peloton, he would have a good chance for good finish today, from a reduced peleton. Instead of he kept working, and Garmin didn't have any other quick guy there. Were they so afraid of Schar in context of GC?
Btw. only two Garmin guys in the first group today. Is there any single race where they go strong as a team this year?
Garmin just seems to have an overall fail season, with only few highlights.

Riders, commentators and spectators are all used to metric in cycling. I hate it when they use imperial for measurements before I realize what is going on. 100k for a stage that is kinda short ohhh they are using miles.

Could have been a strong spring, if Slagter didn't have mechanical 400 meters to go in the queen P-N stage and if Martin didn't fall down 200 meters to go in LBL. But since then it has gone really poor all-around, barring Calfiornia and Dauphine. Lots of riders underperforming and their strategy seems to be really weird and difficult to understand at times.
They currently sit 15th in UCI teams ranking, while their previous worst position at the end of the season in the whole team's WT history was 11th IIRC.

Can't wait to the season end.
No worries, 3 GC guys for the Vuelta will get you back on track!
(just kidding, Martin crashes, Hesjedal getting sick and Talansky manages to get 9th )

Surprising to see him win an almost outright bunch sprint, though I think the pack was heavily decimated and the fact that this isn't the strongest spinters field.
EDIT: Also, rest day at the Tour of Portugal!?

I fairly doubt it was a sprint win, by the fact Agnoli came third.
It surely was a late break. Or when did Agnoli become a sprinter
Fair doubt. Haven't seen the sprint but the official feed called it a bunch sprint from a 50 rider group following lots of attacking around the 5 km mark.
Cort opened the sprint and couldn't be caught according to the feed.

According to this website (which by the way is fantastic for any of you other guys who watch U23 results) there were 39 riders left: https://espoirscen...-tour.html
