Is REALLY John Gadret 3rd ?
Oh my God...
and what suprises you in Gadret performance? i think he fits perfectly for this kind of stage
There's a difference between being a rather good climber, with some quite decent results, and finishing 3rd on one of the hardest climbs in Europe, ahead of the likes of Nibali, Scarponi or Basso.
I mean, didn't that stage also perfectly fit Scarponi or Basso, knowing their form ?
You completely disregard one thing
ENDURANCE
A climb after a 200km stage gives much different results, than a climb straight from the start and then finish after 12km
Gadret comes from Cyclocross, where 45m/1h efforts are normal.
He doesn't have the endurance to be with the best climbers after a 200+km stage
Why do people always think a mountain TT is the same as amountain stage? Do people even know what endurance is I wonder
Sorry for quoting so old post (don't know what had happened to PCMDaily)
But Ruben explained, what i told you Juan, with smarter words. If every stage would have only clear and mountain and no flat part, i think Gadret would always be in top 10 maybe even 5, so thats why his 3rd place wasnt a suprise for me.
I think I've created so sort of new fan-club for John Gadret. I've found a new way for people to take interest in French riders.
Well... i have been his fan for a long time , but he is only now showing skill he has. |

Dominant win by Greipel....but a bit irrelevant when all the sprinters have gone home (other than Henderson and the Cookie Monster).
I hope none of the routes get changed. I want to ee them as planned.

Greipal, Dean?, Sabatini, Henderson...
Enjoyed the Brown - Pozzato fight for Henderson's wheel then Griepal comes around and slots on.
Good Sky train but Henderson exposed too far out and he wasn't quick enough today. Actually nice to see one of these sprint stages quite a thrilling little chase there.
Just out of curiosity - is there any particular reason as to why you keep calling him Greipal?
I've seen worse. There's a guy on the Saxo Bank forum who seems incapable of making a post without referring to the team's "roaster". Yes. "roaster". Like roasting a pig.
Sometimes I get the urge to register just so I can say "I'll bring the Riis, who's got the potatoes?"

Today Mortirolo, tomorrow Gavia and we still have no idea who'll end up on top. (In contrast to last year's Mont Ventoux ). I only hope the Roland Garros boys don't mess up this time, I really want to see 120+ minutes of the Giro today (and tomorrow).

Bakelandts or Tondo for stage.
Webplayer coverage starts at 90km to go.

Tondo is the strongest in the group, Samoilau and Bakelandts will fight for the second place i think

Yeah overall contenders for the stage. I think Karpets attacking the bunch is making it hard for the brakeaway. |

Note to myself: Stop looking for a stream on the internet and check your local colombian broadcasting. 2 hours live coverage of the Giro and I realised that today!
