Matthew Lloyd' signs a one year contract with Jelly Belly, as he seeks to rebuild his career after issues with injuries.
Good signing, and it will be interesting to see how he does on some of the tougher American stage races.
You would think races such as Utah and the Pro Cycling Challenge would suit him well, I forgot that he is only 30 so he still might have something to give. Jelly Belly have signed some decent riders considering they are a small U.S CT team

According to Claus Hembo of Christina Watches they have come to an agreement with Horner in collaboration with a foreign company, who will pay a lareg part of his salary. Horner have agreed on a 3-year contract with the last year being voluntary and with a promise of a job in the "foreign company" when his career ends.
At this point Horner and the company just have to agree on their part of the deal.

Latest rumour is that he's negotiating with Caja Rural: https://www.ciclo21.com/chris-horner-n...rural-rga/
Apparently, it's Vivelo, the team's US-based bike supplier, that's willing to bring him in and pay his salary. |

Oh god, no do not do Lampre, I know you got a Scarponi sized old man slot to fill, but do not do it! They want to sign Horner

Mattia Gavazzi will ride for Christina Watches this year after his contract was cancelled with Androni earlier. |

Must be disappointed hey couldn't get Horner, so they got somebody else to ensure them bad publicity. Makes sense, in a way.
Just for the record : Gavazzi has two positives + cocaine use.
Surely such teams could give their chances to neo-pros or good amateurs instead ? |

They could, and should, there are plenty out there, but Gavazzi will be better, so struggling teams will always want him, unless they have a very moral coach.
I still don't get why there aren't lifetime bans. I don't care if you made a career mistake, that's your problem. |

Gavazzi actually tested positive on cocaine IIRC. Only difference with Boonen is that Gavazzi was in competition when he was positive. |

No. Christina Watches are all about second, third and fourth chances. First chances are up to other teams
I really hope for Danish cycling that they will fold as soon as possible and especialy thet they never get the funds to go PCT as they want...

Second chances were available at Androni until about a month ago. Team boss Savio announced that it is no longer right to give second chances because back then a lot more people doped and if you didn't you wouldn't win anything where as now most of the Peloton is clean so doping is not 'necessary' to perform well. (summing up the article i read)

How can he still be riding with 2 positives?
