Stage 8: Saint-Lys - Superbagnères
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-1_zps767f90d3.jpg
The first big mountain stage of the year.

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-2_zps0a8591f3.jpg
Liquigas won’t let their jersey just slip away, so Wiggins are told to keep every single breakaway within a minute of the peloton.

We take over and keep things completely closed approaching the intermediate sprint.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-3_zps5fa41548.jpg
Moreno Moser attacks with 5 km to the line and Edvald joins him. The Italian carries Edvald all the way to the line and he gets the intermediate sprint without any struggle putting him on the same number of points as Sagan.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-4_zps2518828e.jpg
Poels, Roche, Moreno and Di Gregorio are for some reason allowed away at the foot of Port de Balès.

At the top they have just over four minutes to the favourites group, where Ipsen is looking strong. Vegard had hoped to do something great this Tour, but as soon as the mountain began he felt that he didn’t have it so he decided to help Willy in stead.
What a mate!
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-6_zps85a8ece4.jpg
With 10 km to the top Poels, Moreno and Roche have 3’20’’ to the favourites.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-7_zpsf8b00c76.jpg
Ipsen does his very best to get the white jersey for his own, but can’t hold on to Pinots wheel as the Frenchman attacks.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-8_zpsed73235a.jpg
5 km to go and Poels give it one last go trying to keep the big names behind.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-8-9_zps53e6cb51.jpg
Andy Schleck rockets away for a solo win, while Willy is really struggling behind.

Stage 9: Bagnères-de-Luchon – Col de Portet
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-1_zps38277879.jpg
Another mountainous day. Not very long but extremely compact.

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-2_zps667f7bd9.jpg
Vegard knows he has absolutely no chance in the GC anymore, so he goes away early to pick up some mountain points.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-3_zpsa5a6f1c3.jpg
With 43 km to the line Vegard has 4 minutes to the peloton along with Taaramäe and Wiggins.

We expect the break to be caught, so Laengen is told not to work too much so he has something left to help Willy later on
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-4_zps16c71980.jpg
Colombia leads the peloton into the final 13 km of mountain. They have 2’38’’ to Wiggins and a further 42 seconds to Laengen and Taaramäe.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-5_zps467c2828.jpg
The big names open the attacking on the 10 km mark, but Fränk Schleck is pulling hard in front of the favourites group so Willy stay calm to avoid exploding once again and take full advantage of Vegards help when he is caught.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-6_zpsdc26ad40.jpg
Willy is still not in absolute top form, but does well to hang on rising his own tempo protected by Laengen.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-7_zps5dc2f765.jpg
5 km to the top Andy Schleck is alone in front just under a minute ahead of the main favourites group counting 14 riders – among them both Laengen, Ipsen and Pinot.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-9-8_zps2a360fe5.jpg
2 kmt to the top and the favourites are scattered all over the mountain side.

Ipsen has 20 seconds to Pinot and 1’20’’ to Schleck, who is still alone in front.

On a bad day Willy takes a good 10th on the stage.

The time limit proved very dangerous today and cost 41 riders further participation. Among them Farrar, Kittel, Goss and a total of four Saxo – Tinkoff riders – that will be a tough one for Nibali!
Kristoff is the last rider to cross the line within the limit.

Provisional Standings

Apparently I forgot to export the results and since I have played the next stages I can't give you a detailed standing. The highlights after this stage are:

Fabio Duarte is wearing yellow, while Ipsen is placed 5th in the GC

Andy Schleck is wearing the mountain jersey

Peter Sagan has the lead by 2 pts in the points competition.

Thibaut Pinot holds the white jersey. Only Pinot and Ipsen remains in contention for white.

I've noticed the exports not working as well, has happened multiple times at Paris Nice for me, even though I usually jam the export button a load of times.

A great TDF so far. Wink

Stage 10: Saint-Lary-Soulan – Col du Tourmalet
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-101_zps368d85ea.jpg
Well. It’s Tourmalet – what more is there to say?
Hopefully today will be the day when Ipsen starts gaining a little time on Pinot.

Vegard Stake Laengen takes the lead right from the start looking to pick up the mountain points and generally shake the tree a bit and see what happens.

Without much drama 20 riders split out in front of the peloton with most of the big favourites. It won’t be decisive considering the long flat part of the stage, but it’s still worth noticing that Pinot missed out on the split!

Laengen gets the 10 mountain points, but the peloton is shattered to pieces behind. Haussler could be in for a tough day unless he quickly gets contact with a group further up the road, wouldn’t be too bad for Kristoff and his three companions to get a bit more help either…

Next goal: The intermediate sprint.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-103_zps6a3a3b11.jpg
Edvald joins a few riders chasing the chance breakaway and they let him take the 20 pts without contention (not that they could have beaten him anyway…)

Sagan doesn’t even pick up any points when the peloton crosses so that puts Edvald 18 pts ahead in the competition and his work is done for today.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-104_zps725a886b.jpg
15 km of Tourmalet to go and the peloton still hasn’t caught the break. They are only 2’34’’ behind though so Ion Izagirre tries to give new life to the break.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-105_zps1741eda6.jpg
10 km to the top. Willy is looking good behind Laengen while Andy Schleck and Pinot are reeling in the breakers – all of which are now within a minute of the main group.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-106_zps8b10bc62.jpg
3 km to the top. Pinot is still looking terrifying in front of the front group, while Ipsen once again has plenty to do with just hanging on.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-107_zps1d170f3a.jpg
The yellow jersey takes the win ahead of the mountains jersey.

Everyone gets in within the time limit.

Stage 11: Tarbes – Tarascon-sur-Ariège
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-11-1_zps7cec9477.jpg
This stage can pretty much go either way. A hard GC stage if they decide so, a finish in a large group or a breakaway. I think perhaps we will try the strategy of letting a break take the stage making an attack from Willy slightly more likely to succeed.

On stages like this the early break is often composed of everyone who wants. And knowing that Edvald jumped in there to get the bonus sprint and put some riders between himself and Sagan.

And he takes the intermediate easily.

With 125 km to og the break has 7’30’’ to the peloton.

100 km left and just over 10 minutes. Looks like they plan to just let this one slip. After all Boasson Hagen is the best placed rider from the GC in there.

Pauriol leads the break over the first of the main climbs more than 18 minutes ahead of the peloton!

Edvald should start thinking about winning this one…

On the main climb several riders fall behind from the break, but Eddy keeps hanging on.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-11-5_zpsde243f18.jpg
He is third man over the top so a stage win seems very likely at this point even though he had to empty his reserves to hang on.

Willy Ipsen does his best to shake the GC but with Pinot in a group only 12 secnods behind on the top he cancels his effort.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-11-7_zps1f3765da.jpg
Samuel Sánchez and Pauriol takes full advantage of the Norwegians tired legs and gets away 20 km from the finish line.
After all they know as well as anyone they wouldn't stand a chance if they brought Eddy to the line with them.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-11-8_zps6cbb7bea.jpg
Willy gives it one last go 5 km from the line, but to no avail.

Still Edvald gained an additional 42 pts advantage, so it’s a good day all-together.

1- what db are you using?
2- Can you post the stat page for Fabio Duarte?

Ipsen, what a guy Smile

Ipsen is doing so good

Luis Leon Sanchez: I use Daily's 2012 DB with the addition of Iceland and some countries from a Scandinavian DB I found. Stat-page for Duarte added

Ian: He is certainly coming in to shape as a rider after his great last week at the Vuelta last year.

Jakstar: He is in deed - even though the three minutes to Pinot in teh young riders competition isn't quite what I had hoped for...

Stage 12: Foix – Sigean
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-12-1_zpsa434b32a.jpg
Time for the remaining sprinters to wake up again…

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-12-2_zps65c34fb1.jpg
Hoping that the sprinter teams was too decimated after the mountains to reel in the break we sent Tobias out there to chase his (small) chance of glory and show the jersey.

It was quite a struggle, but in the end he managed to get away with 12 others including names like Monfort, Bole and Roux.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-12-3_zpsb928b3cc.jpg
With 80 km to go the break has passed all the KOM’s and hold s a gap of 7 minutes to the peloton lead by Colombia and Santander.

50 km and 4 minutes. Looks like we should start preparing for a sprint…

With 20 km to go it seems like the chase has come to a slight halt as the break still holds almost three minutes.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-12-5_zps54df314d.jpg
Sagan and Cavendish sprint like madmen for the 1 remaining point on the intermediate.

Fine by us if they want to burn some energy this close to the finish with pretty much nothing to gain!

3 km to the line and a long day is starting to show on Tobias, but with a shot at a GT-stage win he is more motivated than ever.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-12-6_zpse42b39b6.jpg
Just to bad he has Bole on his wheel…

Since Bole is the fastest guy on paper in the group Tobais skips to his wheel, but with 1,5 km to the line that puts him at the very back of the group.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-12-7_zps300c8d2f.jpg
When he realizes Bole has nothing to offer today it’s too late.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-12-8_zpsb8652477.jpg
He puts in a strong finish, but I guess it’s the lack of experience from the young Swede that showed today.

Stage 13: Narbonnes – Arles
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-13-1_zpsf528e8d7.jpg
A day very similar to yesterday.

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-13-3_zps0d125a19.jpg
Hushovd tried hard to get in a break early, but the peloton just wouldn’t let him go.

Magnus Cort had a lot more luck when he tried and in the end 10 riders were allowed away.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-13-4_zpsfdb5f0d1.jpg
Not only were they allowed away: No one seemed to want to catch them, so with 50 km to go the y have just under 12 minutes gap on the peloton.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-13-5_zps3d8fddc2.jpg
On the intermediate most of the sprinters get boxed in, but Edvald gets out to win a few more points on Sagan.

In the break Magnus only just has what it takes to hang on. He needs to build a lot more physique if he wants to win at this level it seems.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2015%20Volvo%20Sas/07-01-TdF-13-6_zps6641b8f0.jpg
In the end there weren’t a lot of points left to fight for for the sprinters, but Vacansoleil went full throttle for it. At least Edvald beat Sagan expanding his lead even further.
