Petronas - Monster Energy; The end of an era
Neillster
I'm the 2000th reply, I feel so special. Now what to say, don't let it end, keep going! Smile

Schleck96
That jersey is really nice. The only thing is that the Subway logo doesn't fit so well in those colors. Nice Pres though!

@ baia: I know it's the Barcelona / Real Madrid (okay, I'm not a football-fan, so the Nadal/Djokovic or McLaren/Red Bull) from cycling in my career. But be sure, I'm gonna change that for 2014, not renewing many contracts that expire but to focus at the younger riders. And I have the 2013-goal to win every single race the team starts Cool . Thanks about the wishes and the presentation.

@ Neillster: another mileage and thanks for posting it! I'll continue very soon (within 2 days)

@ Schleck96: Give the credits about the jersey to Maddrengen. I know about the Subwy-colours, but since I'm addicted to their fajita-sandwich, they had to be my co-sponsor!!

I'm not sure how the updates will come the following time. My wife and I are expecting or first child (31 and a half weeks now), but she's in hospital due to high blood pressure, and because of that the unborn baby is too small for it's age. The expectations from the doctors that it'll be born too early (not 40 weeks), but it'll be fine in the end. So I spend my time between work, hospital, and cooking and cleaning, with only a little time for PCM at the moment (well, it's a way to let go the tension for me a bit, so I'll try to play something every day or two.
But first a sneak preview.

January preview

img215.imageshack.us/img215/324/januarye.jpg

The team schedule in January is easy, as the 2 previous years. After Jack Bobridge has taken part in the Australian championships, he and 6 team mates take part in the Santos Tour Down Under. Th eonly other race in January is the Giro della Calabria.

The 2013 season kickis off with the AUstralian championships. Jack Bobridge takes part in it, but he will not fight for the medals, as he came pretty badly out of the winter (fitness 40).

The World Tour season "traditionally" kicks of fwith the Santos Tour Down Under. While Europe still suffers from a cold winter, in Australia it's summer time with great cycling weather.
Last year, the race was won by Swiss Fabian Cancellara.
img205.imageshack.us/img205/9305/tumblrm0bk63zr8d1qacyk6.jpgimg11.imageshack.us/img11/7513/2012es.jpg

The race features 6 stages. 4 of them are pretty flat, while 2 are a bit hilly and will probably decide the GC.

The first stage in the Santos Tour Down Under will bring the riders from Clare to Tanunda, over 139 kilometres. The route features one categorized climb, and will probably end in a mass sprint.
img36.imageshack.us/img36/3687/stage1g.jpg

122km to go
The peloton catches the first breakaway of the day shortly before the summit of the first categorized climb, the Black Top Road. It's Niki Terpstra who overtakes the breakaway-members and is the first at the summit, taking the KOTM-jersey.
img31.imageshack.us/img31/7733/1122km.jpg

28km to go
After a breakaway of 16 riders couldn't create a lasting margin, 2 other riders manage to do so. Tomas Vaitkus (Qantas) and Vitali Kondrut (Lampre) get the permittance of the peloton and they create a maximum margin of 4 minutes. With one lap to go in Tanunda, 28 kilometres, the margin has decreased to 2'17.
img706.imageshack.us/img706/6852/228km.jpg

7km to go
The 2 get caught, and the peloton is preparing for the inevitable mass sprint. But then with 7 kilometres to go, William Bonnet (FDJ) and Jurgen Roelandts (Sony Ericsson) hit each other and crash.
The result is a massive pile up, with only 27 of 151 riders being able to continue in the first group, the others will loose the Tour Down Under in the crash!
img837.imageshack.us/img837/8229/37km.jpg

Finish
Matti Breschel, our main sprinter today, lost contact a bit with his sprint train because of the crash, and is chanceless for the win today. 4 riders create a little gap, entering the last kilometre and will battle it out for the win.
Tyler Farrar (Omega Pharma) launched his sprint way too early, and gets passed. The win goes to José Joaquín Rojas from the Garmin - Barracuda team. After a really bad 2012 season, with only 1 win in the Tour de Romandie, he immediately wins a stage in 2013. JJ Haedo (Saxo) finishes in 2nd and Farrar in 3rd. Matti Breschel takes the 8th place.
27 riders finish in the first group. A 2nd group, including Niki Terpstra and Greg Van Avermaet, finishes at 1'24. The main victim of the crash is Jack Bobridge. Our poor Australian rider fractures his hip, and is out for at least 2 months.

Word from the DS
Very mixed feelings. We're happy with the KOTM-jersey for Terpstra, and think that the 8th place was teh maximum for Breschel after he lost a very good position because of the trash. But our thoughts go to Jack Bobridge, who's undergoing surgery at this moment. We hope he can recover soon!

As you may have noticed, I have a problem with the equipment:
- Androni rides without a frame.
- Red Bull rides without wheels.

Anybody knows how to solve this (with the PCM Fast Editor, or possibly Lachi's Editor)??

Bizarre crash and bad luck for Bobridge. Can't start your season much worse than that Sad. Have seen some pretty big pile ups in Australia, but this must have been the biggest.

Unlucky that Breschel lost his momentum thanks to the crash, he would have won for sure Wink

Lachis Editor change the number in in equipment marque cadre and roue on the Team section

Roue = Wheel

Cadre = Frame
