Contador is amazing. Andy Schleck isn't even close to his level in GT's, although he has the excuse of being 3 years younger. But I'm afraid Andy will never quite be up to that level.
I had some doubts or reserves about Contador, but they have now been taken completely away, this IS the new grand tour king for the next, let's say, 6/7 years. A rare talent.
4,5 min..minus that TTT . This is not hopless case...at least we have a man witch Contador should afraid... |

Beating Cancellara was a surprise, but Conta has always been very good TTer, especially on short TTs.
Debut season 2003, age 20 - won TT in Tour of Poland
2nd season, age 21 - 5th in Paris-Nice TT
3rd season, age 22 - Winner of TT in Tour of Basque Country
And of course, on his way to 1st Tour vistory, he finished 5th and 7th in TTs of 54 and 55 K.
Yes, this was his best-ever TT victory, but I find his progress rather logical. |

Given that Cancellara is 'time trialing Chuck Norris' what does that make Contador? |

Definitivly doped!
Same can people say about Schleck brothers..
yes, but Condator is more easy to suspect, dominate a chrono? beating cancellara? Condator? It smells like doping case...
If you say like that..
Compared to last years TT in the Tour Frank Schleck is doped too...
It's like people say.. Yellow jersey gives you wings.. Contador haven't been that far behind Cance earlier this year.. And now with yellow ofcourse it's possible.
Words to live by
"What would Lance do?"

According to Jonathan Vaughters the top 10 guys had a massive headwind in the last 10 kilometers compared to Cancellara and the early starters. |

OH my. Bjarne and Saxo Bank whining again about pace. Contador is the clearly strongest even if youre guys where driving on the motorbikes.
Cance is just bitter that he didn't make a Gonchar/Schumacher - double, but on the other hand maybe that's not good company to join.
Schlecks are looking to be second and third but of course Mont Ventoux can crack anyone. |

Riis complains that "Contador once again got too much pace from the motors - they have to 'go'". The reporter asked him if he'd make an official complaint - and then they 'cut', so we didn't get to see the answer.
My guess is that he'd say "no".
How does he know He should not have a TV onboard
Contador now does the same as Armstrong and Indurain did in the past, generally being the best in both the time trial and the mountains.
And a last time trial is not about who is the fastest in the time trial, but more who is the freshest, so no big suprise Cancellara is beaten. He actually never came in first in a last time trial in a grand tour... |

How can people start blaming Contador for being doped just for beating Cancellara in the last time trial of the Tour de France. Contador might be doped, hell, they all might be doped, but that's not a way to spot a doping case.
I look at it this way. Contador is amazing and like Ruben I too fear that Andy will always be that infamous step below Contador, because the strenght he is showcasing right now, it's difficult to see, even with the progress Andy has made since the 2007 Giro, how he should ever be able to close this gap. For future excitement, let's hope he will, but we have to face too, that Contador really is something quite amazing, eventhough I don't like the guy. Big props.
I feel more or less secured Andy will finish 2nd, which is an amazing result aswell in his first year as team captain. Of course there's always the possibility of an off-day, but that goes for Contador aswell. That being said I'm having a hard time imagining the two top spots going to anyone else. But what a treat we're in for regarding 3rd place. Armstrong, Klöden, Wiggins and F. Schleck all within some 30 seconds.
Personally I think it's going to be between F. Schleck and Klöden, but with Le-Grand-Bornand as reference Schleck should be the obvious favourite. I know who I'm rooting for

Are you ready for the spectacular bonk on the Ventoux?
I'll tempt fate too. No-one can touch AC. He is just the strongest rider out there. He'll come home at least a minute up.... |

I'd agree with you Guido, but i'm also guessing the Schlecks didn't have much left in the tank themselves otherwise i guess they would've tried the old 1-2. |
