Caisse proposed to ASO to have Valverde ride but retire before the race goes into italy.
ASO told them to F*** off. Valverde's not riding and that's final.
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

What was Caisse thinking. GT organizers try to stop riders from abandoning mid-way trough and they propose sth like that.
But I´m very happy he can´t ride.

Yellow: I am going to go with my heart and say Andy Schleck. I am going out on a limb here but I just get this inkling that he can make the difference. Contador is the favourite, but he has many challengers. Menchov, Sastre, Evans... and thats before you get to his own team!
Green: Cavendish. Its time he got round and if he does, I think he wants green this time. It will be interesting to see how well Tyler Farrar goes.
Young: Well, see Yellow. Though it will be interesting to see how Kreuzinger goes, good time trialler and showed in the Tour of Romandy and the ardennes that he has an attacking instinct on climbs.
Polka-dot: This competition really needs a kick up the backside. It is as many have pointed out been the curse of the dopers, it would be nice to see someone like Dan Martin or perhaps a French rider like Moncoutie, Chavenel, Voeckler or Moreau win it - strangely those guys never seem good enough to do it a la Virenque or Jalabert?
Looking forward to it! |

If you pick A.Schleck for the yellow jersey then surely he will win the white one(youngest) as well :-) |

Sounds great. I wish I'd done something like that for my work experience, rather than being bored stiff for a week. |

No way in hell
I'm going to write a full tour preview, when the startlists are a little more final (and maybe Mike will be nice enough to actually put it up on the site this time).
I'd go
Yellow: Contador
White: Andy Schleck
Polka Dot: No clue, its by far the hardest to call, I'll probably figure someone out for the preview, but I've got no one right now
Green: Cav, barring illness or a crash, no way I see him losing |

Contador: great acceleration, great climber, good time trialist, I don't see him losing. |

Yellow: Andy Schleck, I think Contador is still the fav but I think Andy might be able to take some time on him uphill
White: Andy as well
Polka Dot: Chavanel, frenchie who climbs decently and one of the few who care about this jersey
Green: Cavendish is without a doubt the fastest sprinter but I dont know if he'll bother with intermediate sprints and if he'll be able to cope well in the mountains - I know he proved @ MSR that he can climb, I'm just not sure whether he can do it for the full 3 weeks - so I'm going for Hushovd

White: Andy Schleck, 2nd Kreuziger 3rd Nibali.
Polka dot: maybe one of the french? Chavanel.
