True. But all of them is going for the Tour where everybody nows Contador is the captain. |

Lampre's 9; Matteo Bono, Marzio Bruseghin, Pietro Caucchioli, Damiano Cunego, Mauro Da Dalto, Enrico Gasparotto, Marco Marzano, Manuele Mori and Paolo Tiralongo.
Fun fact, average team weight of 62,7 kg (according to Lampres press release) |

Contador says he's not doing 2 GTs a season
then why he did both Giro and Vuelta last year...

Because last year was not a normal year for the Astana team, and Giro and Vuelta are far enough apart to relax and rebuild your form. The Tour and the Vuelta however, are much closer, and harder to peak in both of these without tremendous fatigue.

The Vuelta doesn't carry as must prestige with the spanish riders as the Giro does with Italians, which you can see by the amount of Italians winning the Giro, and the amount of Spaniards winning the Tour.

Lampre's team is pathetic compared to previous Lampre squads.
And the reason is simple: They decided to pay Cunego the monstrosity that is 2.5 million/season. And that, plus Ballan's wage (which isn't very high at all) left them without much money for other top riders.
To give you an idea how absurd Cunego's salary is, it's 2.5 Bettinis...

Fuji have announced their squad. Cobo's in bad form, so he won't ride, even though he wanted to.
So I guess the riders get to ride for themselves
What can Kessiakoff do? Let's hope a lot, for Dankan's sake

Go Kessiakoff I think that he can surprise a lot, he has showed that he can climb. But this is the Giro, so let's see

Ten Dam could be a great helper for Menchov.
And Van Emden, Horrillo or de Groot for the sprints.

I know and I agree completely. The only other rider on the same salary level is Valverde right? |

He has also shown that he can TT rather good. But hardest part for him will be to be consistent over three weeks, never having ridden that long before. He said in an interview before the TTT in Romandie, that he won't put any pressure on himself because of earlier disappointments(read Olympics). He will try get a 20-30 place in the GC and maybe a stage win.

They might still change the team. They did already. The original callup had Brown and de Maar instead of Van Emden and someone else I can't remember.

2.75
The team that is now Columbia offered him 2.75 in January 2007 on the condition that he rode clean. He used that to get Caisse to offer him the same.
That's when Stapleton was "new" to cycling and much more naive than he is now. He'd never make Valverde an offer now.

I think Boonen's salary is also above 2 millions/season. |
