Will Carlstrom be your leader in the race too? It would be nice with a scandinavian leader
At least I start with that..but race and morale will show...few more options:Miholjevic, Noe, Stangelj, Vanotti. |

some great results so far guido. keep it up.
Sry. I never can remember that ..cobble it is (not that Potter thing). I must but my bad grammar warning back..
it's just an english thing. in english we're taught that cow's say moo, pigs say oink and turkeys say gobble. hence the gobble classic/turkey joke |

..team has sent 5 quite equal riders to Indurain race..Carlström, Miholjevic, Noe, Stangelj and Vanotti...race will tell.
There is blenty of places where atack..first one Petrov, Blanco, and Zaballa.
Second wave..Sinkewitz, Tschopp and Liquigas send first rider out..our veteran Noe has taken well so far climbs...he follows.
Petrov and Blanco another attempt...all group counters..
Last downhill..before flat and uphill sprint..Blanco atack at the descent..
cahse group..Zaballa, Petrov, Noe, Tschopp, Sinkewitz
Blanco solo is over..after that Martinez atack..just before last small uphill..
Again back together...
..and here we go again Caisse raider Moreno opens the sprint..
wow..Zaballa looking super strong..Sinkewitz and Blanco trying to follow..I can not expect that Noe will beat them at the sprint..
..and Zaballa take a win..Noe 4th. ..This is good result..enough for me.

Last stage
Bergamo - Bergamo
Fischer had hard stage yesterday...now in yellow. Only smart ride will defend he's jersey.
Marchante and Di Luca atack..Di Luca was atacking on every hill yesterday..today same thing..where is hill there is Di Luca..doesnt matter if we have still 100km. away.
and off he go's...alone at the front again. This is perfect situation for Fischer at the moment.
Marchante and Visconti going after him...
..and Bertolini..Fischer waiting this is way to early..Di Luca atack in that early stage just helping him. Liquigas butting Zaugg at the front of peloton..to keep tempo perfect for Fischer...
Visconti has caught Di Luca..Di Luca launched another atack...how much this guy have?
But now..here comes peloton..all back has we started..
..but Di Luca has another surprise..Bertolini follows..but he is unlucky..puncture..
Back to group..and 15km. later Di Luca should give up..
Then we see first time Fischer today..he go's with Visconti and Marchante..
..but no back together. Ok..last short hill. There go's Bertolini..he was over 2 min. behind at the GC..Liquigas let him go.
Yesterday stage winner Giunti atack..this is serious one..Fischer follows..
Caruso going after Bertolini..this is ok..still looking ok for Fischer..
..and chasers group..Di Luca leading..then Giunti, Grivko, Danielson, Caruso, Paolo Tiralongo and Fischer is last man..
Bertolini..takes stage win. Caruso second...
Fischer beating he's main rival Giunti at the final sprint..few seconds more. Done.
Now Fischer will take it easy..next hugh task is Tour..stage win is to much to ask..stabile sprint results inside top 10..more reasnoble

Classic cobble (get correct this time..)..as usual top 10 is great result for us..but if we look startlist ..then top 20 is hard enough.
..as usual..first part was easy..when hill's started ..peloton is getting longer and longer. At the front Ballan is trying a get away..in descent..Nuyens follows..
Lead group is formed..no busines there for Liquigas team..van Avermaet, Flecha, Nuyens, Boonen, Cancellara and Ballan..a little surprised..where is Katusha strong cobble team (Pipo and Gusev for example)
Nuyens atack..he is getting away..
Then Ballan trying to drop..Cancellara..not yet.
..next hil and Cancellara atack..Ballan cant follow..situation: Nuyens, Cancellara. Ballan.
Liquigas guys has far behind own battle..with Maaskant, Arvesen, Hincapie and Niki Terpstra.
Nuyens hold's it ..and take race win..
..after him coming separetly Cancellara and Ballan..
Quinziato 18th. ..he had almost perfect run and this was a limit.

Stage 1
Legazpi - Legazpi
Favorites list is long Cungo, Valverde, F.Schleck, Sanchez...for me most intresting to see is to find possible Giro contenders and how they going at the moment..I was thnking long to take Basso there or not..Romandie tour for shure..(he's form at the moment is 74)..decided..no. Maybe some small one day race before Romandie.
Strong breakaway trio..Del Nero, Roldan and Mazzanti.
In the main group Highroad and Cervelo take control..
Last hill, breakaway riders are caught..Sanchez launches atack..
Mosquera going after him...
..then just before a hill top..Schleck, Kirchen , Nbali, Valverde. Nibali doesnt seems "all mighty" at all. Little difficultys..lets recover a bit..
Descent..Sanchez and Valverde at the front..
..Kirchen has left chasers group..and trying to get to the first group..
Schleck launches atack..Nibali trying to follow with Cunego.
They fly pass first trio..Nibali takes a lead..
Last corner..Cunego choosing outside line and passes Nibali..
First stage win and leader jersey to "Piccolo prince"..and we have possible first Giro name.

Stage 2
Legazpi - Erandio
Sprinters come up..this is your chance..silence..Liquigas do not have any at the linep. Just in case I will keep Vanotti up there..has oportunist.
Breakaway raiders Dries Devenyns and Adrián Palomares..
80 km. to go..surprise atack ..Horner..
Larsson follows..at the last hill they caught breakaway duo..and past they go's ...
...peloton comes back together for mass sprint..speed is amazing everyone suffers now..Nibali should but everything out to keep up ..because split is possible. Galdos leading a group..Highroad, Cervelo and Caisse planning something..
..and this is it all out Florencio has been lead man for Thor..Valverde is there..Kirchen..Nocentini
..and Hushovd takes stage win..this was well done. Because if we look top ten..he is only pure sprinters who has survived in this super fast stage.
Valverde 2nd..but this is enough to take tour lead..

Stage 3
Erandio - Viana
..another day after fastest race of the year yesterday.
wow..hugh crash..many top raiders are down like Uran, Mosquera, Efimkin, Herrero, Florencio, Buffaz, Knaven. This was realy bad timing..peloton already riding fast..they wont able to get back..
Mazzanti keep collecting climber points..he has hugh lead already at the moment.
Caisse controlling a race..and just before last hill Kirchn launches atack..Sanchez follows.
Nibali waited second wave..now one dont like to start it..he opens it..and here comes other favorites like Cunego, Schleck and Barredo.
Hill top..again as few day ago..Nibali has difficulty to follow..little more then downhill will help..
Surprise that Sanchez has falling back also..up front. Kirchen, Barredo, Cunego and Schleck
..and Nibali made it ..he is back in lead group..
Samuel Sánchez has great descender..coming back..
and sprint..Kirchen opens..Nibali has recoverd a bit..
..and Kirchen takes it..Barredo second...Nibali was to close to beat Cunego and take a third...
..and here comes clearly dissapointed Valverde..he missed breakaway..and even dont sprint today..realy not Valverde there just rolling over the line.
Every day new leader..Kirchen takes it over now..
Offtopic: Nibali downhill stats are to low..

Weather is nice today...all favorites in ..Boonen who has missed couple important cobble races after Milano- San Remo win is back again..
Looks like even Euskaltel rider himself is wondering..what a hell I am doing here ..in this surface..grazy..
Just before peloton caches breakaway group Quinziato..make few faster moves and he is into it..cool change from peloton to breakaway group..
Breakaway guys are exausted they cant follow..Quinziato alone at the front..why not to try..push a little..
But ofcorse not..Quick step wont let dangerous raiders away in this race status..back again..
Atack,..Pozzato, Ballan, Boonen..Nuyens..Devolder..
..not yet..group back together..but lead group is formed..no Liquigas riders in there..
Great Franzoi move..he follows van Avermaet atack..and has joined lead group. This is new for us in cobble season..we even atack some times
But not for long..just a same moment when Franzoi get to the group..Burghardt and Ballan launches atack..
Hoste , Cancellara and Nuyens follows..
...the passing Ballan and Cancellara keep just pushing ..only Nuyens manage to keep near..hopless. Fabian takes another win..most succesful rider of ths season..
..and celebration
I am happy about todays race..first time Liquigas duo make some action and was long in the picture. Franzoi is in absolute peak..this is good ..Hell in north should be best for him..he hates sharp hills..

Still paris-roubaix to come..Cancellara is strong (has always)..Ballan is most active one..best shape man is Nuyens..loosing shape man is Boonen
and somewhere between Hoste, Devolder and Flecha,
