Thank you very much, Wolfos
No problem
Shouldn't all this be in the "Other races" thread though?

Taylor Phinney is an absolute freak of nature.
After winning the pursuit in 4:15, he now won the 1k against pure sprinters in 1:01.
The progression he made in 1 year is absoluty insane. The time of his 1K is insane too, considering his slow start, only one man was ever faster in the distance after his slow start (19. something) and that was Tournant I think in La Paz, a track on high terrain.
So Phinney must be either a freak of nature, or uberdoped. I don't know yet, but it's insane. 18yr old, normally the year you are 1st year espoir, and he's at the level of Wiggins in the pursuit and at the level of top track sprinters at the 1K.
WTF? |

To begin, he is a freak of nature. Beyond that, he himself has said that he has never felt this good, attributing it to early season training camps with the Livestrong-Trek team. |

Theo Bos immediately won his first road race as professional
He won the Prova de Abertura. Which is some sort of portugese semi-pro type opening race (comparable to Ster van Zwolle, Down under Criterium, etcetera) |

Unknown to many, Bos was actually a quite talented road rider as well, but he made the definite switch to track as junior.
Interesting to know maybe, his last road race before this one, was the junior race Ronde van Warmenhuizen, he finished 2nd there winning the peloton sprint, 1 lap behind Thomas Dekker that's when he decided to go for a track career. But he wasn't that bad on the road.
Now he's back lol. I don't expect much from it though, I think he can win a lot of these races this year, for sure, but I don't know if he can do the same on the highest level. |
