Cavendish on the breakway in Gent-Wevelgem. Biggest achievement in like two years or so.
Well, reason for this could have been that Cav’s planning his retirement after today’s race... according to an interview after the end of GW.
Cav can go out anyway he likes after his career. The best sprinter of all time (@ me, i'll argue this all day!) has got Scheldeprijs on Wednesday. Which was also his first race win at Elite level back in 2007. It would take a miracle for win this time around, but i will be in tears that evening whatever happens.

I'm a bit torn about this one, has there been a cyclist with Coronavirus since racing started again? Cyclist are so careful of their health, I'm willing to put money that there won't be a major outbreak until the end of the season. Footbal players are just careless and cause all thiscommotion, same shit from Djokovic but I really believe cycling can be safe.
Really nice from Hirschi, although this has to be the weakest startlist in ages.
Anyway, today could be Mark Cavendish's final race in the professional peloton. Such a shame that the final few years of his career were ruined by illness. The first half of his career alone makes him arguably the greatest sprinter of all time. Would have been interesting to see if he could have beaten Merckx's record at full fitness.
Stumbled upon this MSR 2009 thread today, and it made me think of this discussion
Funny that so many people were certain Cav had no chance, and then he won, and then no one thought he'd even come close to the all-time wins record. The first few pages are quite funny looking back.
I totally forgot and thought it was still at least another week off but the La Vuelta starts tomorrow with a far stronger field than the Giro, what a bizarre season with the programming of these races.

1) Omg so many old names!
2) Good to see fanboys never ever change! (and i never want them to, that passion is amazing!)
3) Do i need to change my username once he retires?
4) How do you "stumble" on a thread that is more than a decade old?

1) Yeah, so many I'd forgotten about
2) There was a real nationalistic feel back then. The brits vs. the danes vs the dutch vs the Portuguese, was interesting to see
4) I was looking at a screenshot in the screenshot section, then I just clicked a username and they had made the 2009 MSR thread or posted in it or something. I dont even remember who it was. The things you do when you should be studying
