bbc2, arguably the 3rd biggest channel in Britain has spent the last two hours watching 2 people no one cares about serve at one another. Wimbledon is great.
This is historic. I for one am glad it's still on BBC2.

It would be 62-61 to Isner in the 3rd set!
8 hours and 45 minutes have been played in this match. There hasnt been a break of serve since the first hour!

According to Wimbledon officials, once the game reaches 60 - 60, the tennis is abandoned and the two athletes fight to the death until only one remains to progress...
Use of tennis racquets in such situations is strictly prohibited.

No you got that all wrong. At 60-60 both gentleman will be anally penetrated by their own tennis rackets and the one who lasts longer goes through |

As the BBC graphics don't have enough room for 100-100 a computer virus will affect the world causing man kind as we know it to end.

At least once the world cup is over, we'll still be able to enjoy Mahut vs Isner as they continue to get no closer to a result

This game is simply insane. They've played the equivalent of about 15 sets of tennis now

you can look at it 2 ways.
they're either both incredible athletes having played non stop for 10 hours.
or they're both equally bad and have been playing for 10 hours and still can't win.
did anyone even come close to winning?
imagine if you'd been sat there all day watching it waiting for the next game to come on |

I'm going to take issue with that.
They only played the 5th set today. Even that is longer than any tennis match ever, so still an amazing thing.

I know Mahut saved several match points, but not sure if he's had any break points himself. Surely he must have done - he's had 59 games for goodness sake!
The most impressive thing for me is the mental strength of the players and concentration. It may look effortless the way they pull out these strings of aces, but to keep pulling it off time after time is some achievement. Whenever I've seen Mahut's he's seemed like a very good player, but somehow he's not even in the top 100. Maybe he's hopeless on non-grass surfaces. |
