Oh here we go people trying to turn Dumoulin into an average GT contender, from a great TT'er/Puncheur.
For me its better to be amazing in TT's and 1 week stage races rather than trying to finish Top10 in Tour de France. Do you remember off the back your head who was 9th in 2011 TdF without googling? Me neither.
he's almost a exact copy of Tony Martin and we thought that he could have been a GT contender back in 2009 I think. but then he was awful in 2010 which made him abandon his ambitions for a GT GC.
hopefully Dumoulin does the same and doesn't go for GT wins.

He is young and has the stature for it. We are not trying to turn him into whatever, just having a casual discussion whether it could be possible. Nothing wrong with that. He seems as a more talented Bradley Wiggins to me.
And by the way, I am pretty sure, if he wanted to, he could achieve a lot more than that GC-wise. Whether it would be smart is a whole other discussion. I mean, look at him: long, thin, 23 years old and able to produce those kinda watt over long distances.

Gonna try it: Tom Danielson?
EDIT: Googled it afterwards, Danielson was in eighth. But I understand your point about Dumoulin

Nope.Jean Christophe Peraud.
Actually Danielson was 9th overall and Peraud was 10th overall. But Contador got banned and Danielson promoted to 8th and Peraud promoted to 9th.I didn't googled it.

Yes, I know every TdF top 10 from the moment I followed the sport (shame they don't do exams on that ).
Do you know who won the ITT of Eneco Tour in 2010?
Wow, Dumoulin and Boom looked at each other so much, thay forgot about Wellens. Fantastic attack by Boom, but I guess he slowed down in last km allowing Wellens to take it. PCM-wise Eneco is exactly the race you love to watch and hate to play.

True words! Spectacular racing in last two days and replays looked sweet too.
Tim Wellens, quite incredible. Tomorrow will be crazy, maybe it'll be more exciting than AGR itself. Just like le Tour's Paris-Roubaix. Hm, spring classic parcous in stage races, should become somewhat a rule.
