Oh im quite surprised you didnt mention the word Rogers in your post there I think Menchov will be in top 5, highest 3rd, i dont think he will win. I just dont think Sastre will do it. Id rather go for schleck. i say Evans and Valverde will battle for 1st, whoever looses gets 2nd.

Vinokourov is absolutly the big favorite this year.....Valverde still doesn't have the strenght for 3 weeks, Menchov is a bit to weak in TT's......Evans lacks the last bit in climbing, Sastre will take a top 3 again, but won't win......Rogers will lose it on the first mountain stage and then do good on the rest.....Moreau will fade in the last week, Schleck isn't a good enough climber on long climbs.......Liepheimer will probably lose a lot on at least one stage. |

and Rogers will want a top 10, but might have to settle for a top 15
actually, Rogers and T-Mobile have repeatedly announced that this year it's about a top 5. his knee is acting up severely though. this is why they chose Cavendish instead of Grabsch. they're diversifying and also going for stage wins.
I have a good feeling about Menchov, after what he did (or didn't do) in the Dauphiné.
as for Evans, this year he finally (as he announced loudly) learned his lesson that it's bad to ride thirty million races a year and get to the tour tired. I'm curious as to what he can do.
Sastre I feel is one of the most underrated riders in the current peloton. Doubt he'll win it, but CSC has a very strong team. not one of those riders is any less than very VERY good (well...Cuesta has faded in recent years). no danes though. that's a surprise.
Vino, Klöden (on his first injury-free season ever...) and Valverde I believe will all be around the same level, at the top. unfortunately, those are the three that I least trust (you know what I'm talking about).
The start of the third week is by far the most important, so I'm looking forward to it. especially as Valverde usually fades by then as usually Vino, Klöden and especially Evans usually rise dramatically in the third week of every GT.
it's going to be exciting, that's for sure. can't wait for July 8th and stage 1.

which is very surprising. Riis was pissed a few weeks ago when they asked him what he thought of Julich's poor season. he said Bobby was peaking later this year, for the Tour and then the worlds TT.
I guess it's the end of the line for him...too bad he crashed last year. according to everyone on the team he was in awe inspiring form.
