Yeah, just one of the many great innovations from Veloviewer. Worth checking out the (free) site for lots more if you cycle yourself.

Just found this footage of Stage 1 from Giant - Shimano's De Kort and Degenkolb bike cameras. It's awesome.

Breakaway of the day formed by David Lozano (Novo Nordisk), Maarten Wynants (Belkin), Paul Voss (Netapp), Jonathan Clarke (UHC), Will Routley (Optum), Robbie Squire (Jamis), Luis Davila (Jelly Belly) and Ruben Zepuntke (Bissel) with a 5'55" lead over the peloton currently.

The KoM point on the .HC climb of Mt Hamilton was won by W.Routly ahead of R.Squire, J.Clarke, L.Davila, D.Lozano, R.Zepuntke, Wynants and Voss. Followed later by the Sky duo that were leading the peloton L.Rowe and I.Boswell.

Approximately half of the stage's parcours have been ridden so far, with live TV images starting in under an hour as per usual.

I prefer a boring stage race over a stage race won by a Sky rider every day of the week.

R.Squire won the intermediate sprint ahead of L.Davila and M.Wynants. 46.5 kilometres remaining, or 36.5 to Mt Diablo, with a gap of 4'50" from the breakaway to the peloton.

Crash for Bissel Development Team with James Oram, Ryan Eastman and perhaps a third hitting the gravel. Nothing serious luckily, but a few grazes and bloody spots from it.

Nice to see a Novo Nordisk rider in the break of the day Smile

Team Sky did have a mountain train going for Bradley Wiggins but it seems to have broken up a little and been usurped by BMC, primarily M.Schar currently.

Peloton speeding up a bit... cmon there's gotta be some action!

Malkael
Voss, Avila and Squire still hanging out in front by a margin of approximately 25 seconds, as the Commissars begin pulling out the motocycles and other vehicles.

7.3km to go.

Mano-el-mano time now. Bradley Wiggins left isolated on the front of the peloton, if the others have any balls or energy to make a move.
