Giovanni Visconiti fell during People's Choice Classic in Australia, and broke his right tibia.
I bet he's had seasons starting better than this one. |

It is probably the best point of the season to get injured
Although it does depend on what his Goals are |

He broke his tibia. His season is done.

Yep:

"How long it takes to return to daily activities varies with different types of fractures. Some tibial shaft fractures heal within 4 months, yet many may take 6 months or longer to heal. This is particularly true with open fractures and fractures in patients who are less healthy."
I feel so sorry for him.

Zoidl's NC jersey.
The standard Trek jersey.
That's a disgrace. Why even win a NC when you have to look twice to find your own jersey in a bunch of standard ones?
This is the amount former national champions get in other teams, and he gets it as the current...

I dont see a wildcard team being successful in the Tour, maybe if they get a succesful break but no other way.
You could easily say the same for 15 of the regular teams.... IAM should provide something decent or at least aggressive. Cofidis will do their usual. Bretagne would only be good for some attacking yes, but being in the Tour would be a massive boost for the team. It would allow them to attract a whole new class of rider in the future as well as sponsorship. MTN would also only be good for some attacking. Ciolek is ok for some Top10's but frankly his MSR was a fluke and outside of him they're no better than most Pro Conti teams
And in terms of MTN being unique for being African, it's not strictly new to Le Tour. Firstly it depends how you class Barloworld, but also there were African teams in the days of National teams...
Netapp Endura has imo potential top10-15 rider in König and top10-15 TTist in Jan Barta. Lets wait if it will be enough for a wildcard. I can see them going to Netapp, Cofidis, Bretagne and IAM.

Well Wiggins done it, Geraint could too. And Geraint lacks in the classics so far, last year crashed out in all 3 of them. He climbs fairly well already for being a flat rouler, if he decides to go full at it, you never know what he can become.
i know. A TdF winner...i would not be surprised at all.

Something about TDU, Giro, TdF, Vuelta, 1-2 classics, Tour of California and that's all I remeber.

Di Luca is throwing doping allegations, saying 'it isn't possible to ride top-10 Giro without doping'. He also says it would be best to legalize doping, to make sure everyone rides under the same circumstances.
An interview will be aired tonight, with Di Luca expected to give names or back numbers of dopers.

Di Luca supporting the legalisation of doping? There's a shock.

Consider me very skeptical that it would actually stop harmful and illegal doping. Something is going to be banned due to health and safety concerns and if that substance just happens to give a superior performance boost then someone is going to bend\break the rules to use it.
The NFL is already under pressure to change due to concussions. Could you image the storm that would ensue if people begun having long term ill effects, or dying, from legalised doping.

I'm not sure but I think some people have theorised a link between doping and cancer already. I imagine these things haven't been around long enough though to really get a good sample size. Oh and there is the whole thing with race bottles with ampheamines and painkillers in them causing more crashes.

Di Luca wants only a part of attention. More like an attention whore.
Legalising dopping ? - What next ? Allow them with a gun on the bike ?
It is impossible to finish in TOP 10 without dopping ? Well, for him sure it is.
Engine on the bike ? - Really ? I thought we had enough of that crap.
I had enough of him already.

I think I agree with him on the impossibility of a Giro top 10 without doping though. I should check numbers, but it's probably not so far from the truth.
Legalizing doping ? As it said it might kill people, and riders who dope don't dope to ride faster (they'd drive motorbikes if it was case), but to get an edge on their opponents.
To be added to that, not everyone reacts the same to medicines, drugs or doping products.
Not sure about the engine, I'd say it's technologically possible, but 150 W is a lot, I mean give me 150 W more in every circumstance and I'll probably win pro races (not the biggest ones maybe). |
