He might be entertaining is a perverse way but do we really need him in cycling? I think not

How can this be Euskaltels "only chance of survival"? Moving to Tuscany and sacking most of the riders except a few of the top names doesn't sound as much like saving Euskaltel than starting up a new team...

I just want Tinkov to get away from my beloved sport Angry

I can't blame him for wanting to have another crack at gold at Rio with the team pursuit, I can't see him doing anything much on the road anymore apart from a few TT wins

Less/weaker doping tests in track cycling or just hating Froome so hard he doesn't even want to ride on the same asfalt ever again? And he changes his mind every two weaks, in september he will anounce that he will start losing weight again to focus on climbing again or something else. Rolling Eyes

And I really hope that the Tinkov-Euskaltel deal doesn't happen. Sometimes it's just better to stop at all than to sell your soul. Wink

yeaah he realy need more track gold medals?
lets change a team..and Challange Froome (hopless though)
no need to play friend..If they are not.

nacho63
But the track is what he's best at right? Team Pursuit is obviously one of his loves and whether he needs another medal or not it would be hard to reject the chance to represent your country at the Olympics again and maybe finish off his career with a gold.

Oh and Danny Pate gets his contract extended

Wiggins... Anyone remember 2007 when he quit road cycling? That lasted a long time Pfft Fully expect him to ride next year, but on a totally different schedule from Froome, probably targeting Paris-Nice Romandie and the Worlds. He will retire in time for Rio but that will be just for 2015

In all fairness, in terms of recognition in Britain, a gold is worth a lot. And Wiggo loves recognition.

that is true, in Britain he'll always be that guy who won the Tour de France to people who don't know much about cycling but if he wants to remembered by more than just cycling fans he needs to go out with a bang that winning another gold medal would create and winning a couple of TT stages over the next few years would not.
also depending on what track events are included in 2016 he could equal Chris Hoy's 6 gold medals and its hard to fault him if he wants to do that, who wouldn't want to retire as their countries most successful Olympian?

Just because he likes it most of the time, doesn't mean he can't be a hypocrite Wink
