That's not a good stage for me, I really need that yellow jersey, and I'm not sure I'll have it by more than 20 seconds after the time trial. It's going to be a nail biter.
Also Tenorio, that was pretty disappointing.

Superb reporting, and the fight between Cunego and Madrazo just got more interesting. I don't think Madrazo will be able to take more than a minute on Cunego on the upcoming time trial, meaning this could go down to bonus seconds.
Looking forward to the two flat stages now, really hoping Impey can prove competitive once again. |

Always sad when a crash happens. Especially when GC rider's are taken out. |

Goodness me, what a stage
It's tempting to say thank god nothing bad happened to Puma, but that points classification still looks really awful...
Commiserations to anyone with a GC rider in that crash, that's a real bummer.

I have to admit this is one thing I really dislike with PCM. Crashes and punctures have an unfairly disproportionate effect on gameplay whether you are playing it for yourself or in the man game.
The vast majority of real life crashes and punctures have little impact on races. Yes sure if a GC guy punctures in the final 10km of a stage it's harder to get back in (in real life) but they normally manage. In PCM, they'd never get back, and they'd lose 5 odd minutes.
I, personally, think crashes and punctures should be removed, or the effects lessened (which can't be done without changing the entire gameplay).
Still, good to get back a point on Cunego, right?! Might have been better to get more than one, but hey, Ponzi avoided crashing. That's good. |

I 100% agree with you. Even just getting the riders back up on the bikes and back to full speed faster would be better. The gameplay effect is hugely disproportionate and can lead to stupid things like this stage. I felt almost sick watching it and found it really, really hard to force myself to write this report. Same with Pluchkin's puncture.

Well, i'm 4th, but i'm not sure how to feel about that, and seeing how the game plays out you can go from top 5 top to top 25 in one stage. Real bummer for everyone involved.
That said, these crashes/punctures aren't the first bad elements about PCM 12 (as mentioned in previous discussion threads).

**** **** ****
You have to be kidding me, every rider of my team was down except of domestiques Bouet and Novak. And my best rider even didn't finish the stage. I can't wish for a 'best' stage, almost really...
At least Kreuziger tried nicely. 4th lucky place is better than absolutely nothing in the end...
Nice report Count.

Awful to see that crash. Hopefully none of those who finished are injured.
Speaking of the stage, it looks like I wasn't clear enough on the pre-stage meeting. Jaramillo is definitely not the rider we should try to send in an early breakaway on a flat stage like that
Let's try with Nordhaug tomorrow, and no crashes please, especially thinking of the overall contenders. |

In agreement that crashes like that are just awful, the AI is not programmed to 'sit up ' as may happen in real life in this situation.
As far as the stage is concerned it appeared as if the break were not going to caught so no need to feel any same for a sensational stage win for Timothey Vangheel.
I feel incredibly pleased about that

All my remaining riders were in the crash :-p At this pace I expect to not finish the race...

Again very lucky that Cunego wasn't in that crash. But something might still happen.
I guess with PCM13 where less crashes happen it might be better but with no RES etc. working that is a big downside of PCM13.
I haven't planned in the points jersey for this years Tour but when you can take it you should take it.

I'm going to pretend to be over Brandt losing time while secretly because Brajkovic gained places.

I don't think it's an issue really. After all it's a computer game and not a real life simulation. The way I see it's part of the game and it's unfortunate for those involved but that's about as deep as it goes. What happened here is by far the worst that has happened to my team in Man-Game history, but it's the way it goes. I have been lucky earlier. I won the very first Continental race Tour Down Under because of a crash that turned out in my favour.
And don't worry Pluchkin is back in 2014 even stronger! If this is anything it's strenghtening of my motivation to win this race

I'm looking forward to it.
I was planning to sell Madrazo if he managed the Giro-Tour double, but if he doesn't win here, I will probably be forced to come back next year with an even stronger squad.

One of those stupid GT stages!
Schleck lost time but 3rd was likely his best hope before, and it still is. Amador was more of a danger in 4th than Intxausti - and Im less worried about Intxausti as I wouldnt actually mind seeing him on the podium!!

I would be very careful with switching to PCM13, it could be even worse, i expect total madness with unfuctional stats and overpowered breaks (even after the patch). Going to PCM11 would be maybe the best solution.
But i expect decisioning to be made by reporters only?
This crash sucks big time, feel really sorry for everyone involved. But it also happens in real life (see Valverde this year with his puncture or every years carnage of first stages, which removes some top5-10 favourites).
But worst is that they sit up, as someone said, that is no real. They should be quicker on bike and ride full gas till the end.
