Tour De France Stage 12

Today's stage is a pan flat 198 kms across France with a slightly uphill finish. Hopefully I can continue my good streak with a top 3.

The Race

imageshack.us/a/img41/134/h2gm.jpg
A seven man group got away shortly before the intermediate sprint. The members are: Engoulvent, Izagirre, Hunter, Van Resenburg, Hayman, Le Mevel, and Leukenmans.
imageshack.us/a/img841/2051/imvi.jpg
With 15 km to go the gap is down to 40 sec.
imageshack.us/a/img543/2597/m5s0.jpg
6 km later the catch is made and its a Orica vs Lotto battle on the flatlands.
imageshack.us/a/img811/3375/vt3l.jpg
With five km to go Lars Bak is flying and Tony Martin is drilling it for Cavendish.
imageshack.us/a/img822/8538/4stz.jpg
Three km to go and Jurgen starts his leadout. Goss is also in good position and I see Sagan for the first time all Tour.
imageshack.us/a/img12/5438/ntb2.jpg
1 km to go and Jurgen pulls off but I don't have the legs I had in the last sprint and I'm felling slower, but will perfect positioning prevail?
imageshack.us/a/img153/8822/bh2x.jpg
It sure won't as the missile flies by. Everyone knows who will win, who will take up the minor placings?
imageshack.us/a/img268/5201/q05q.jpg
Cavendish takes the Win! It took him a while, but he finally got his first win of this years tour! I hold on for second ahead of Goss and Sagan.

Tour de France Stage 13

Today is another flat day with no categorized climbs on the route. I felt terrible when I got out of bed this morning.(-5 daily form) I just hope to be able to finish in the top 10 today.
imageshack.us/a/img838/7564/tcz9.jpg
Seven men got away after about 20 km into the race. The names: Delage, Viviani, Vigano, Dumoulin, Chavanel, Van Avermaet, and Flecha.
imageshack.us/a/img443/4258/incj.jpg
With 20 km to go any thoughts of a bunch sprint are going away. The gap is still 3 minutes to the escapees. The team has decided not to create a leadout
imageshack.us/a/img811/6817/0sy5.jpg
But after playing cat and mouse for 10 kms all but two of the men in the break have been caught. Flecha and Dumoulin have a 1 15 gap.
imageshack.us/a/img199/6503/0ylq.jpg
With 3.5 km to go the duo are caught and the sprinters will get their turn in the spotlight.
imageshack.us/a/img843/2492/3coe.jpg
2 km to go and I'm on the wheel of Cavendish who looked extremely strong in the intermediate sprint killing all challengers.
imageshack.us/a/img4/5255/pjxf.jpg
One km to go and I'm stuck behind Boonen, but it wouldn't have mattered since I have barely any energy left.
imageshack.us/a/img24/2349/ik3c.jpg
At the finish Cavendish wins again ahead of Theo Bos and Lloyd Mondory. Petachii takes fourth ahead of Goss. I take an extremely disappointing 14th place.

Evans crashes on descent of Alpe D' Huez

Cadel Evans crashed on the descent of Alpe D' Heuz and never saw the peloton again finishing over 2 minutes down on the yellow jersey group. There were no big attacks on the stage with all the riders content to just ride up the climb. The stage was won by the Estonian Champion Rein Taaramae who had a very disappointing Tour until this point.
