That's interesting. The 2nd best GC guy (my opinion) isnt was choosed
Was trying to figure this out looking at my board, then realized I took all the 73+ off, so I'm figuring you mean a 74 guy.
Otherwise for the 72s my GC ranks were:
1: Szymd
2: Dombrowski
3: Kashechkin
4: Pires
5: Serpa
Yep, the 2nd best 74 AVG GC rider its up for choose.
Same list for me, i choosed Serpa higher because the higher MO stat and Jeanesson because home advantage (beeing french)
My list for 74s would be:
Rujano
Spilak
Nieve
Siutsou
Verdugo
Mine:
Nieve (77 MO, good backup stats)
Gadret (76 MO, good backup stats , home advantage! )
Spilak (all-rounder, better TTer then Nieve and Gadret)
Rujano (77 MO)
Siotsou (like Spilak) |

Wouldn't put Rujano that far under Nieve. Rujano is a better TTist than Nieve, only misses out on 2 HI stats(aren't any hilly races after the first mountain stage, when the GC fight is really on)

Sadly though I like Richeze (since my team is Argentinian) I had Hinault as the best overall sprinter. Richeze is like 12th.

Yes, and I guess that a lot of the next guys are going to take a climber that could make Top 5 GC, while there are plenty of 74 sprinters up for grabs, that could make a win(and a lot of points) easily.
Well, actually, I'm ruining Chavanel's chances now with this post
I dont think there are that many good sprinters left, so luck for you.

A decent pick at this point for a 74 would actually be Taylor Phinney: Likely to win any TT stage, 74/74 for sprinting certainly would hold his own in the sprints.

@Kent I know, Phinney is good in my books too, almost picked him. You're throwing your own TT chances away now, though

Youre right
I still believe I have the best contender for the green, as Vaitkus is not only a sprinter, but can also survive hills and ride a good TT and prologue.

Yikes! Your right, my Tuft/Castroviejo combo for TT chances!

As AVG 74 I was thinking about David Zabriskie or Geraint Thomas.

Big Z could be really strong, hopefully good enough mountain (73) not to lose much time on climbs, and the 76 TT could win back some time.
Thomas has slightly better TT but 69 MO will hurt, and I don't think the sprint he has will be good enough to do much.

For Thomas I thought a free element. So he can attack a lot and TT is good.

@ Admishleck Perhaps it is a bit unfair, but there are more Canadians out there! Also you need to change Deignan.
@ Mvhoogdalem We still need one more rider as Gruzdev was taken
@Manx Missile Although I can't be bias, S Hinault does seem l to be a great choice for sprints, points jersey and maybe even being a vital cog towards the ultra classification. Having said that these riders have lower 'averages' than the usual grand tour protagonists, so strange sprint results may occur.
