 Race Report : Tour de l'Eurométropole
Stage 01
In this race my main goal is to win the KoM jersey. As the only climb of the day was 14 km after the start, I gave a try. Unfortunately Nathan Haas (Garmin - Sharp) was faster than me and he took the 10 points given.
The stage went well for the team, Sébastien Turgot was an outsider so we didn't have to work a lot and in the end he beat all the sprinters to offer the team another victory.

Stage 02
The second stage was very agitated, but as we had the leader's jersey, I had to be part of the chase. It was really difficult for me to hang on in the final kilometers and I ended in a second pack, 1'02 after Tom Boonen who won the stage.

The first two days were perfect for the team, Séb T. kept his jersey for another day. We will do anything for him to keep it but he'll have to win another stage for it.

Race Report : Tour de l'Eurométropole
Stage 03
Again today, the only climb was near the starting line so I tried to take some points. And this time no one contest me the 10 points, I'm leading the Mountain Ranking with 18 points.
After taking the points, I dropped back in the pack to control the breakaway I spent most of my time in front of the pack today.
After, the things went worse, Alexandre Pichot did not do his work properly and Séb T. was never in position to fight for the win. This mean that he lost the jersey. Daniele Bennati (Team Saxo - Tinkoff) today and Andrea Guardini (Astana Pro Team) is the new leader.

Race Report : Tour de l'Eurométropole
Stage 04
Today, 20 mountains points were given, if I wanted to keep my jersey, I had to be in the breakaway.
And I did it, we were 8 in the breakaway and some wanted to take my jersey. In the first mountain sprint I only took the second position behind Johnny Hoogerland (Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team).
Then came the second mountain sprint, the others attacked very far from the sprint so I decided to stay behind them and when they had spent all their energy, I started my sprint to take the 5 points given here.
No one really fight for the third one but I had to take the points so I accelerated few meters before and I took 5 other points here.
As my jersey was secured, I decided not to fight for the last 5 points to save some energy for the end of the stage.
In the last kilometers, after we'have been caught, Steven Beauvais decided to test the pack.
He did not resist to the sprint of Edvald Boasson Hagen who won the stage and the General Ranking. Séb T. get another top 3 and he ended 4th in the GC.
As I said, I won the KoM jersey here. I'm really proud because climbing is not my best attributes and managed to fight for some points against riders who really wanted it.

Race Report : Binche - Tournai - Binche
And here we are, the race of my season. To congratulate me and to see what I could do, the coach told me I was co-leader with Séb T.. I was under pressure because I could not deceive him.
We did not get a man in the breakaway today so we decided to chase them, no one else did.
The beginning of the race was quite easy I stayed not to far from the front to avoid being caught in a crash. During the 3rd cobbled sector, Vincent Jérôme set the pace up, when we leave the sector, we had created a little gap.
We caught the breakaway and when Alessandro Ballan (BMC Racing Team) joined us we where 17 in the group.
After the last cobbled sector, we were only 8 with 6 riders of Europcar. Behind us, the pack was not very organised but the gap was melting.
When the pack get to us, Séb T. told me to try something so I followed his advice and I accelerated. Of course, Alessandro Ballan did not let me leave so easily so we ended up two at the front with 15 km left.
As I was not the big favorite, I stayed all the time behind him. He was not as fast as the pack and the caught us 4 km before the end.
In the end Séb C. launched the sprint for Séb T.. As I had some energy left I took the wheel of John Degenkolb (Team Argos - Shimano). Séb T. won the stage and I managed to take the 3rd position which is not bad at all for me as it was a sprint finish.

The season is now over, all the races have been raced. During the winter I will rest a lot. I've been invited to some cyclo-cross races in the North of France and in Belgium so I will not stop riding during this 3 months. But first here are some info from the cycling world.
Transfert:
Alessandro Ballan signed a two-year contract with Lampre - Merida.
Sylvain Chavanel who was in conflict with his team ended his contract and signed a new one for three years at Equipe Cycliste FDJ.
Cannondale Pro Cycling is looking for the american market, they recruted Tom Danielson for two years and Taylor Phinney for one year.
Andrea Guardini left Astana Pro Team to join Lampre - Merida
Team Argos - Shimano due to his bad season ended in Pro Continental. Marcel Kittel and John Degenkolb had a contract which could end if the team was relegated. Marcel will go to Garmin - Sharp and John to Tinkoff Bank.
Rankings
Alberto Contador won the World Tour Ranking with 926 points and the CQ Ranking with 3490 points.
Sébastien Turgot won the Continental Ranking with 1054 points.
Team Saxo - Tinkoff won the World Tour Ranking with 1395 points.
Team Europcar won the Continental Ranking with 3532 points and the CQ Ranking with 7994 points.
Equipe Cyclist FDJ and Team Argos - Shimano were the worsed team in the World Tour Ranking. FDJ was 18th and Argos 19th.
UCI offered a World Tour Licence to Team Europcar and IAM Cycling. Jean-René Bernaudeau followed the team policy and he rejected the offer. The team will be a Pro Continental one again next season. After the rejection, Equipe Cycliste FDJ were allowed to stay in World Tour.
To sum up quickly, Team Argos - Shimano is going down and IAM Cycling is moving up.
