2010 was Bridgestone, not Pirelli.
I mean 2010 style tyres (sort of durable, but needing a couple of stops and fast all race) but made by Pirelli (as they do seem to constantly test and check the tyres to find ways to improve them)

But we can all agree its not as exciting as in 2008...
We need 2010 Pirelli Tyres, refulling, DRS, Kers and greater points gaps at the top end...
Or as i now do, watch pretty much any other racing series whenever possible
We need two or more tyres manufacturers, so that there's a competition there instead of something totally artificial that only aims at creating a show.
DRS is rather artificial too. Kers, if it was used for fuel efficiency is something I like, but having it used as a push to pass, and using only a very low amount of energy each lap is a shame. Green washing at work...
The points system is rather fine, IMO. 1 point for the pole and one for the fastest lap wouldn't be a bad thing though.
They should make aerodynamics more simple and allow cars to drive closer to each other (which is possible with more simple aerodynamics, less vortex, etc.), so that overtaking becomes "naturally" possible. That's what they aimed for in 2009, but the double, then triple diffuser prevented that, and aerodynamics have gained extra complexity since then. |

Hell no.
2008 was, every track someone was clearly faster and won by a big margin almost every race. It was a succession of 20 boring races that added up to a close championship, but each race was dominated by 1 car, so boring. Now it's much more open
And we've had a progressively bigger gap at the top end from 2 pts to 3 to 5, and it's made no difference.

Sport is a show by definition. And more than one tire manufacturer only ever had the effect of limiting the number of people who can win by making it impossible for anyone who didn't guess which tires would be faster before the season started

If DRS is artificial, then the aero push that makes passing difficult in the first place is also artificial, in which case it's one artificial thing used to negate the negative effect of another artificial thing, so in either case I don't see a problem

Agree. More for pole I'd say

That's already massively improved but won't improve beyond this unless you mandate equal cars for everyone, which of course won't happen. So it's not a possible solution

But what do I care, real race driving is not part of the F1 anyway. Just check this:
The intresting is that the driver finishing fourth (Munoz) finish second in the Indy 500

We're past the half way point of the Canadian GP and I can't see Vettel losing this. But I'm still hoping for some extraordinary circumstances. |

I'm also enjoying Webber's usual style, always taking no prisoners and screwing it up. |

That race sucked ass.... Monaco was just about as exciting...
I don't care if they are driving 200% if they are no where near each other. At least in Monaco they were close together so there was potential for something exciting. Here everyone massively spread out early on then settled down.
Only 3 real battles: Alonso vs Webber, Alonso vs Hamilton, Mass vs Raikkonen and none of them were particularly epic, just several laps close together ending in an overtake or nothing.
Canada, what happened, you used to be cool!
Also the BBC commentary has just tipped over into being downright weird this weekend...

Mark Webber will quit at the end of the season. Who'll take his place at Red-Bull?

So, three tyre blowouts in 15 laps. Not sure if it's the tyres or the circuit kerbs, but this is such a weird race. |

That creates a lot of drama, and forces drivers to do even more pitstops and swap positions.
Bernie likes that.
Me not. |

Vettel out
Good race for Alonso and Ferrari with the circumstances, could have gone much worse. |

Hopefuly Kimi. And at STR, Felix da Costa should take Ricciardo's place.
Liked today's race, pity all of those tyre issues. |
