Meersman was very fast in the end as well. Shame he wasn't better placed when the sprint began

That was quite impressive and gives a hint to who would've won yesterday without that mechanical...though winning today is definitely more "prestigeous" than yesterday
I wasn't even celebrating when he emerged from the rest, I was completely stunned how he could go uphill that fast

Sure was impressive sprinting. Germans and sprinters, goes hand in hand! |

Best in numbers for sure
Though I have to admit France is catching up. Bouhanni, Demare, Petit, Coquard.
Let's see if Arndt and Zabel can counter

Who needs numbers, we know from where the green jersey winner is coming.
Nice win from Kittel on such a hard finish (to his standarts), against the weak field though...but Kittel is fast really.

Not bad by Bozic, I've been sort of waiting for him to deliver some results.

Predictable stage winner is predictable
Shame about Bouhanni

If today's stage was full of crashes and abandons, I don't know what tomorrow will be like.
The final descent with 15k to go:

Well, that's going to be a spectacular decent I think

If you consider crashes "spectacular", than sure, but me personally I'd like wider roads, to provide more safety for the riders. |

Loos perfect for a break-away with some good decenders. |

Looked at the profile for Stage 3. Possible punchy sprinters stage, or move of a Puncher, like Gerrans?
Happy to see Kittel win. Very happy with Leigh Howard, cracking start to the year. |

It's strange, though, that they optred for Howard instead of Matthews, who became World Champion in an uphill sprint (juniors) |

Well obivosuly they know which one has better form, and Howard is definitely the faster of the two at the moment.

Main reason was that Matthews crashed 75kms from the line and did not even take part in the lead-out.

Breakaway:
M. Keizer (Vacanasoleil)
S. Minard (AG2R)
M. Christensen (Saxo)
A. Vuillermoz (Sojasun)
The peloton is 3'20'' behind them with 43km to go.
Keizer picked up the KoM points, so he leads that classification now.
Also, it is raining, so that final descent will be nasty... |

Boonen getting some priceless training here in Paris - Nice. It's looking good for him. |
