Like Cav won't have enough support from his team-mates at the Tour. Lets bring him another one

Basso will be at the Giro next year. He will start with Lugano and Insubria and do PN aswell. Sagan will do TA and Tour next year. Moreno Moser will be leader for the Ardennes classics. Also Amadio said he think Damiano Caruso will take big step/revelation and be a good man for GC.
8 teammates working for Sagan could lead to a LOT of stage wins for him.
In the Tour ofcourse.
However this time around Cavendish will have 9 riders with him. Unlike this year, where he had 3 at most.
Compared to Sagan who had one Oss.

The route details of the 2013 Tour Méditerranéen have been released.
The fifth day of racing will return, and there will be a 24km long, mostly flat ITT.
February 6th: stage one: Limoux – Gruissan, 141km
February 7th: stage two: Cap d’Agde – Sete, 24 km (individual time trial)
February 8th: stage three: Marseille L’Estaque - Saint-Remy de Provence, 158.5km
February 9th: stage four: Rousset - Toulon (Mont Faron), 151 km
February 10th: stage five: Bandol – Grasse, 167km
The hardest climb - Mont Faron - will be on day four. That stage along with the ITT will probably decide the GC, but who knows |

Mont Faron and a decent length TT sounds like an interesting race, and rather odd for one so early in the season. I wish it was televised, because it could prove to be quite high quality.
I wonder if Coppel will have a crack at it and possibly use it as a stepping stone towards Paris-Nice.

Tbh I wouldn't include Eisel in the squad, Thomas could do the same role, much better. But you never know. If it's 9 riders at the Tour, I have an inkling he'll go. If 8, then I hope not.
Don't forget that Thomas does the videos with EBH so I wouldn't want to see that Bromance broken up But seriously I hope that Thomas gets the spot because he is genuinely likeable and can go a long way in the sport. He has already stated that he wants to develop into a new British Tour contender:

I think he would be better as a classics rider but the man can do everything so what's to stop him?

This might be kind of big news:
Time bonuses on all road stages will return to the Giro d’Italia in 2013.
Even the mountaintop finishes will have 20, 12 and 8 seconds on offer to the first three finishers.
I see that Wiggins won't be happy about that (TT stages won't have time bonuses).

CONI requests a three month ban be ratified for Scarponi and Visconti for working with Ferrari

And the italians are going to lose two top riders because of Ferrari. |

Scarponi is probably rather happy anyway. He could've faced a six month ban, which would've taken him out of the Giro.
Now he'll get to ride it.

Scarponi's Giro preperations will be a bit limited now, though. |

Awesome idea.
It'll never go unnoticed and it's a great publicity stunt |

Yep, I am sure Thomas will go to the Tour. He's too ''multi-tasking'' rider not to go. Great lead-out, good climber, and can go into breaks. And the videos with EBH just add another edge
Yea I hope Thomas focuses on classics for next 2 years and decides after that, he's talented and can put the work in so he definitely can become a great rider, whether a classic rider or stage racer.
Man, Cav gone. Wiggins might retire in year or two. Maybe in few years you might even start to like Sky

Though I hope Thomas becomes a classics rider, instead of a stage racer.
Would he be the second Brit (after Tom Simpson) to win a classic? I think so, not sure though. |

A certain Mark Cavendish would beg to differ
EDIT: Depending on how you define the Isle of Man politically, though I guess technically it is not part of the UK.

Can't believe I forgot about Cavendish
Though I was thinking more about the cobbled classics |
