Roberto Velásquez: The Story of A Legend |
Daggen
The cannibal 2.0

Ian Butler
sutty68: Thanks a lot, sutty! Let's hope you're right Wink

Daggen: Oh, I like that Grin That might stick Pfft

Jakstar22
Good racing. He really fooled Sanchez. Only a few stages to go. It is Roberto's race to lose now.

FreitasPCM
That is just amazing from Roberto, the win's closer now. Smile

fcancellara
Actually this is even worse than Stijn Pfft

But a great story!

Must be doped just like ArmstrongPfft Insane resultsSmile

Ian Butler
Jakstar22: Let's hope that doesn't happen Wink

FreitasPCM: Yup Grin

fcancellara: Thanks! But I feel it's justified. Would be a silly story about a legend if the legend turned out not to win much. Wouldn't be much of a legend Pfft (Stijn would've become a legend, too, I think)

TimoCycling: Maybe he fell into a big cauldron of dope when he was young Wink

Some amazing riding here Ian. Roberto is surely a beast, maybe even a cannibal.

This Vuelta is there for the taking now Grin

Thanks! Next report up in 15minutes max!

Vuelta à España 2012 - Stage 17/18/19

They got me good.

- Roberto Velásquez 05/09/2012 -

Stage 17

The one but last mountain stage. Everyone would attack Roberto for sure.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp1701.jpg

The breakaway made it to the finish (Boom won), so the boni's were out.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp1706.jpg

The attacks started at 10-15km from the finish, with Valverde.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp1702.jpg

Rodriguez was up to some cunning plan, and he was provoking Velásquez into attacking.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp1703.jpg

The fish didn't bite. So he tried again. Against his coach's advice, Roberto followed.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp1704.jpg

Rodriguez was still provoking Roberto and he made the mistake of attacking himself! He gave in to the game of Rodriguez.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp1705.jpg

Rodriguez' plan had worked, and Roberto saw his main competitors riding away as he had blown his legs.

With one more mountain stage, the first GT win was very close for Roberto Velásquez. At his first GT race ever, would he win it? Two more days of caution remained.

sutty68
Roberto survived very well today, he is nearly there Wink

TimoCycling
Still some youth problems, he has to mature!Smile. His coach will be mad again, I think. But the GT win will be there I thinkSmile

FreitasPCM
It's getting even closer. He did lose some time to Cobo, but hopefuly it won't happen again. Wink

kqyt
amizing stuff by Roberto, but some of his biggest contesters have very bad days.
Diadora Cyling
A new era in Italian cycling?

Daggen
Nail biting again Pfft

dienblad
I haven't looked for 2 days, and the Vuelta is almost done...... Slow down please!

Oh man I missed nearly entire Vuelta??? I really enjoyed reading it. Great riding by Roberto and he for sure will win this Smile
I nearly forget here is Banana for so many wins Wink

Ian Butler
sutty68: Thanks Smile

TimoCycling: Well, I hope the coach won't be mad if he wins the Vuelta Grin

FreitasPCM: He'd have to lose a lot of time to him, and he's not the greatest climber. I hope it's in the pocket Wink

kqyt: Yeah, I've noticed that, too. I wanted a closer battle, but some of them (especially Contador) had some really crappy days.

Daggen: I hope I'll be able to relieve you soon of it Wink

dienblad: Well, tomorrow I have a class finally again. I've been going fast because my prof for Wednesday and Thursday was ill, so I was at home. and Tuesday I overslept so I stayed at home, too.

JuanMotr: Thanks a lot! I was starting to wonder where you were. I thought you had stopped following Wink

Final 2 races of the Vuelta will be raced either tomorrow (depending on if the lesson will end on time or not), or Saturday. See you then! Thanks again for following and commenting!

JuanMotr
are you kidding me? stop following such great story?? Pfft
