Thanks for your support!
On France, Stage 13 had another breakaway win, with no own important to the GC involved, so everything was the same at the end. The victory went to Vaitkus who got the best from Ballan on the final sprint, 26 seconds in front of the peloton. Turgot was the fastest on the peloton.
Stage 5 Tour de Pologne
Although there are 3 2nd category and 3 1st category climbs, the pace needs to be very high so that the sprinters who can climb don't get to the end in position to win. Movistar will for sure do something about that.
So, as promised, with 100km to go, Movistar is already increasing the pace.
With 25km to go all that the Movistar work could do was reduce the peloton to 64 men. But the yellow jersey is still there.
And Stybar takes the win! He was faster than Bole and Moser.
Stage Results
1 Zdenek Stybar Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team 4h09'54
2 Grega Bole Lampre - ISD s.t.
3 Moreno Moser Liquigas - Cannondale s.t.

10 Przemyslaw Niemiec Lampre - ISD s.t.
11 Joaquim Agostinho Movistar Team s.t.
15 Javier Moreno Movistar Team s.t.
17 Giovanni Visconti Movistar Team s.t.
Agostinho arrived in 11th, he tried and the team helped him, but it was not enough to get to the front. Tomorrow is the last chance to try to achieve anything in Poland.

Stage 6 Tour de Pologne
So, if it's a decisive day to the Tour de Pologne, it certain isn't to Agostinho. He's here to start his preparation to the Vuelta, and his inexperience may affect his ability to lead a team in such a hard race.
Up and down all day! This is the profile of today's stage:
Movistar decided to put Visconti on the day's break. He got the best of Trofimov on the 6th of the 10 first category climbs, when there's 87km to go. They've been both discussing the mountains points, and right now Visconti is 4 points ahead. Trofimov is virtual leader as he's just 36 seconds from Impey, just like Marcato and De Marchi, that are also on the break with 6 minutes on the peloton.
On the 7th Mountain of the day, Visconti got the lead again, but now Marcato tries to leave the break behind.
And with just 25km to go Visconti surrenders. There are still dangerous men on the break, and one more mountain classification to go, so now it's time to Movistar to increase the pace!
With 3km to go there's still 43 riders on front, with Movistar men among them, lead by the yellow jersey. Agostinho speaks with Moreno...
And Bakelandts beat Niemec and Moser. Moreno and Agostinho are 4th and 5th. Yellow jersey is still there, so he'll keep it.
Stage Classification
1 Jan Bakelants RadioShack - Nissan 5h19'59
2 Przemyslaw Niemiec Lampre - ISD s.t.
3 Moreno Moser Liquigas - Cannondale s.t.
4 Javier Moreno Movistar Team + 13
5 Joaquim Agostinho Movistar Team s.t.
6 Edvald Boasson Hagen Sky Procycling s.t.
7 Lieuwe Westra Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team s.t.
8 Grega Bole Lampre - ISD s.t.
9 Zdenek Stybar Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team s.t.
10 Andriy Grivko Astana Pro Team s.t.
General Classification
1 Daryl Impey Orica - GreenEdge 26h46'10
2 Zdenek Stybar Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team + 15
3 Przemyslaw Niemiec Lampre - ISD + 16
4 Grega Bole Lampre - ISD + 17
5 Edvald Boasson Hagen Sky Procycling + 28
6 Pieter Vanspeybroeck Topsport Vlaanderen - Mercator + 31
7 Eduard Vorganov Katusha Team + 32
8 Ion Izagirre Euskaltel - Euskadi + 33
9 Lieuwe Westra Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team + 35
10 Michal Golas Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team s.t.
15 Javier Moreno Movistar Team s.t.
17 Joaquim Agostinho Movistar Team s.t.
So with just one final flat stage to go, Tour de Pologne should be decided. At least on Mountains it is, as Visconti has 4 points on Trofimov and there are just 3 to be disputed!
Mountains Classification
1 Giovanni Visconti Movistar Team 72
2 Yury Trofimov Katusha Team 68
3 Marco Marcato Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team 50
4 Alessandro Proni Acqua & Sapone 40
5 Stefano Garzelli Acqua & Sapone 40 |

On the latest stage on Poland, the south african Daryl Impey took the stage, and it was a superb Tour de Pologne for him, with the overall lead and 4 stages won. Visconti got the mountains jersey, Movistar was 1st on teams classification (with the same time as 3 other teams) and Agostinho made a decent 14th place and a top 5 stage finish. A good way to start the preparation to the Vuelta.
On Tour de France, 16th stage was a flat one, with the sprinters that survived going for it. Surprisingly, Romain Feillu was the best, beating Sagan and Goss and taking the points jersey from Meersman. On the other classifications, everything is the same.

Stage 17 Le Tour de France
Today is the first of the two consecutive mountain stages, that ends the climbers chances. After that, there's still a 52km time trial and two flat stages.
Although today's stage is very hard, with 2HC classifications followed by 2 1st category climbs, there is a 14 km descent towards the finishing line.
And with Izaguirre on the break, that was 2nd on MC, Kiryienka was there too, and got the first 25 points, increasing his advantage to 106 points. It's almost done! The 17 (!) men break now has about 8'30 from the peloton.
Guess who won the 2nd HC?
With 50km to go Rui Costa decides to attack from the peloton, soon joined by Van den Broeck. It seems Movistar team wants more then the red dots.
With 25km to go it seems today's stage winner is on the break group. Meanwhile, on the favorites group, Froome and Nibali try to go away, and quickly get Costa and Broeck.
Moucoutié beats Marczynski. Kiryienka is coming for third.
And Valverde takes 4th, winning a sprint that had the break guys and Froome, Voeckler, Nibali and Evans. There will be changes on GC! Nibali, the new leader!

Podium, Polka dots, top ten in the GC and the teams competition. Let's hope that Kiryienka can hold the Mountain jersey all the way to Paris! He has a massive lead (is it unassailable now?) |

Thank you and welcome francopell! (you've just taught me a new word: unassailable
Yes, in deed there are just about 40 points left, so the lead is more than enough for Kiryienka.
This is actually being a great Tour with 4 guys that still can win it: Rodriguez needs to do something next stage because there's a 50km TT. Nibali, Froome and Evans are on the dispute.
Actually, this is about Joaquim Agostinho, the best portuguese cyclist ever, but i'm really enjoying playing with Movistar and Rui Costa, our (portuguese) big hope!

Stage 18 Le Tour de France
The decisive day on the mountains have arrived. With polka dot assured, Kiryienka can now be useful to his team leader.
With 80km to go the break of the day has about 8 minutes on the peloton. Movistar has Lastras and Pardilla there, but there are other important guys, like the youth leader, Poels (16th) and Kreuziger (19th).
With 16km to go Lastras and Di Gregorio are on the front with 3'39 from Poels, Kreuziger, Gautier, Porte and Pardilla.
And another win to Cofidis with Remy Di Gregorio being the strongest. Lastras tried his best, but all he got was 2nd. Evans and Nibali get Pardilla and will win some time to Rodriguez and Froome. Peter Sagan had a crash and abandoned.

Movistar did great on this Tour winning the teams classification, getting the sponsors goal - the Mountains Classification -, winning a stage, finishing on the overall top 10, and showing the teams shirts on the very best stages! |
