Sydney was a bit different, since there were faster riders than the three Telekom guys in the group of 14 or 17 following them. Jalabert, who'd finish 4th, was one of them.
Ok, Vino didn't attack the two Germans, and didn't react when Ullrich left (rather than attacked), but Klöden left him the second place. Had they come for a three men sprint, the result would probably have been the same. |

Did the opening ceremony cost so much that they couldn't afford a proper production? Such as, say... a timer in the corner?

More importantly:
1. They had absolutely no chance if they didn't work together
2. If they made it, every single one would get a medal...and so they did.

Why doesn't Froome just retire now and save some energy before the TT?

Because 25 km of a quiet solo ride is better for recuperation ?

Germany throwing all the firewood into the fire for Greipel.
What's the over/under on how long till Spartacus attacks?
EDIT: Who is Bak working for? Breschel in a sprint? What?

The question is. Who will follow Spartacus' attack and win? |

Yeah, I know it was a quite different situation than today, but I only wanted to say that it's quite common that this type of cooperation.
More weird for me is that Jan Barta and Roman Kreuziger openly said that they have a backup plan for today and that would be that they help Peter Sagan in last kms, if they can't get a good result for themself.

Tons of good sprinters up front. Kristoff, Valverde, Cancellara, Phinney and even Boom.

He is working for him and more probably for his Lotto mate Greipel, I think.

Can Stuart O'Grady sprint anymore? I haven't seen him do it in a while.
