MSR change to Sunday obviously affects other events too

I reckon you used a decimal log (LOG) instead of a neperian one (LN).
LN gives you a straight line, normally. |

Great to see a running topic here I'm a 15 years old atlethe from the Netherlands. Training five times a week, here are my personal bests:
100m 12.10
200m 24.40
400m 52.64
800m 2.0
1000m 2.58 (test run)
5k 18.28
Became fifth on the national championships 400 meter indoor and now training hard towards the track season which starts in April here in the Netherlands
Some nice times seen here guys! |

My ln(t) / speed curb looks like that for road events.
There are some performances I shouldn't be too proud of (mostly 2006-207 ones though), and my best performance on 10 k is not as good as it could have been (I was wasted by training), so my "endurance coefficient" is artificially good (the line doesn't go down that much). If you look around ln(t) = 2 that means the speed I can sustain during e^2 minutes, aka 7 minutes, which is the maximum aerobic speed (MAS) and is a figure used for establishing training plans for endurance runners.
Anone interested in things such as decrease of performance compared to effort duration should check for Perronet & Thibault's work.

If you've done 2.0 at 800m and you're just 15, seriously consider switching to it. That's a time that would rank you as one of the best in Europe in your age group

I forgot the 5 So my time is 2.05.46 to be precisely. My focus in on the 200/400 meters till the summer holiday. In the last month of the track season I'll run the 800 meters and longer. Offcourse I will run some 800 meters in the summer season and some 400 in september but that's my main planning |

I'm nothing close to a runner compared to you guys, but here's my story...
I haven't done any sports up to last summer. At that time, age 22 and 77,8 kg for 171 cm, I decided it was time for some exercice. I can't even begin to describe just how slow and short my first runs were I have them all on record here, and I can assure you it took me months just to be able to run +- 8 km with an average pace of 10 km/h. By september I was down to 62,5 kg and in october I finished the 10 km in my hown town in a (for me) respectable 50'56".
I took a little break then and since the end of november I've working on my goals for 2013, which are coming up real quickly now. On the 21st of April I'me competing in the 10 miles of Antwerp (16,2 km) and I'm going for an average of 12 km/h, which would bring me close to a finishing time of 1h20'. A week later I'm taking part in a heavy 25km race including some sections from the Tour of Flanders. ([url=https://sport.be.msn.com/loopvanvlaanderen/2013/downloads/25km_profiel.pdf]profile/url) No real ambitions there, other than enjoying myself. The week after that another 15km race, and on 26/05 my main goal for this spring: the 20km of Brussels. Same ambition as in Antwerp: 5 minutes per km average, or 1h40'. The profile isn't completely flat though.
As you've all figured out by now, I quite enjoy city racing I should also note I'm a university student and I can train 3 times a week. I also try to control the stuff I eat, but I don't really have the motivation the cut back on the hamburger I enjoy once a week I just try to have fun and still achieve some respectable times, without joining sport clubs etc. I graduate this summer, so I'm planning on doing a half marathon in october where I would like to go for a time below 1h30'.
Quite different story compared to you track or field runners, but hey... Running is running right |

My Reaction after I was halfway through my training session tonight and on the verge of throwing up all over the track:
I have never trained in so unfavourable conditions... Heavy Head and Side winds, constantly turning (the track I train on is right by the sea, only a stone throw away from Dublin Harbour, with no tall buildings to shelter it even the tiniest little bit, due to a little nature reserve) directions, and a session that in nicer weather would already put the man into human... I ve been done for a good 45 minutes now and I still feel sick.
Ah jaysus!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,
Colours is done.... Eventhough the UCD Team was considerably bigger than ours, it appears that Irelands Oldest College has taken the Title this year, as UCD brought a ton of athletes just for the sake of getting them to run in the sprints...
Meanwhile I figured out that my best discipline is definetly 200m. Came second in my heat and judging by the winning time between 4-5th overall (it was judged on times)...
I sucked in the 100 though... Wasnt happy with it at all!
And to crown it off, I was also lying in 3rd place at the changeover in the 4x200 relay (which always caps off colours).
I am happy enough with the results over 200, since its the first time this year that I have ran competetively (you may recall that my indoor season ended before it started because of a calf injury). I think it was good to open strong with the season lying ahead, so I can focus on the 200's (i only raced 2 last year) this year... Bring it on!

And what was the time for your 200 ? Also, apparently you've given up triple jump after all ?
One thing I've been curious to know is how your 1 mile cross-country running event went last Autumn.

Well the times were wind asssisted and Hand timed. So I really dont know what the real time was, but the lads that wrote it down clocked me at 24.13...
As for the triple, I can only say, that im still training for it. Im not guaranteed a spot for the 200 at varsities (eventhough our best 200m runner appears to be out with a hamstring injury which might actually put me on the team) but I still want to do something on both days, and the tripple would come in handy since it is on the 2nd day...
And the race last autumn wasnt a cross country race, but rather a 1 mile leg in a road race relay competition... I finished okayish. Ran the mile in 5.20 or so... But in fairness, or team was set up with 2 fun runners and 2 sprinters with only one actual long distance runner

Back in training after having lost all my motivation sometime during the winter. Pity, since I've never been in better shape then I was last summer/fall.
I've had a few good sessions now and I'm not as bad of as I feared. I've built up a pretty good "natural form" over the years so I never experience huge dips in form even after a long period of little or no training.

Just ran my first long distance run in 2 months, a 6km race.
The race felt great, and I finished just under 25 minutes, that's a higher average speed than my personal best on 5km.
