I really didn't like Schummi at Mercedes. If he goes to Sauber, i actually think he can do better than at Mercedes. |

more likely to see Algersuari come back than Schumi
Jaime cant stop hinting he's got a drive for next season. I hope its Sauber...
MSC should consult/work for Mercedes but not drive anymore. It was a good laugh, now its just sad

Who will replace Massa at Ferrari? (cause he has to go)
I'd like to see Kimi return to Ferrari, but it wont be. My guess might have been Kobayashi, but Sauber will want to keep one driver. Probably see one of there development dirvers from outside the current grid.
If it was a long term solution, they would get one of the Force India drivers, with Hulkenberg being their favorite. But that's not what they want.
Ferrari have a lot of money set aside specifically to make Vettel the highest paid driver in F1 in 2014 when he becomes available. They want a 1 year interim solution. The options on the table are Massa, Schumacher, and the least likely option is Kovalainen. Massa is most likely to stay.

Where will Di Resta be next season? (i dont expect him to stay with FI)
I would have said McLaren... But a move to Williams might be on the cards. Or Renault as a longer shot.
He's spent all his life saying he doesn't consider himself scottish, he's italian, had an italian flag on his helmet his whole career, etc....then this year he started being linked to McLaren and changed his helmet flag to british and his entire speech to oh i feel so british don't I (notice how he never uses the words "scottish" ). Now he's lost out. He's got to be pissed. He also has zero chance at Ferrari, which he knows.
He was Mercedes' 2nd target after Hamilton, now that avenue has closed.
Bottom line: He'll stay at Force India unless something drastically unexpected happens like an injury to someone. All his other avenues are closed.
TheManxMissile wrote:
Will Mercedes move forward on the Grid?
No. Hamilton, while a good driver, doesnt have such good understanding as someone like MSC. At least Nico has a similar(ish) style so the car should suit them.
Who knows, there's a lot of luck involved. They're putting all their eggs in one basket: developing the 2014 car at the expense of 2013 so they can be at the front with the new regulations....how hilarious would it be if they ended up like BMW, the last team to do that? Meaning if their car ends up being great in 2013 and awful in 2014 and beyond?
TheManxMissile wrote:
Will McLaren go backwards?
No. This will help. Perez and Button are very easy on tyres. Expect a well balanced car which will need to stop less. If they can keep within a second of the top cars at each race they can make it up by not pitting.
Why would they go backwards? Again, there's a random element, but having by far the largest budget in F1 plus some very smart people, they'll be as they are.
TheManxMissile wrote:
This will also hurt his championship attempt. Button will be under less obligation to help if hes just going to leave.
But Hamilton should win in Japan if his car doesnt break and the team doesnt screw up.
Should be interesting racing and gossip now
Hamilton's championship is done. It would take a miracle.

Mercedes will become a force in 20414 there is a new engine rule and supplying your own engines will increase your performance massively(which no one seems to take into account or know about) this plus of course the money are the reasons he moved. |

Mercedes are good at suggesting their car will be brilliant next year, and then it isnt.
One thing went through Hamilton's mind when making the move: $$$$$

Good move for McLaren, great to see Hamilton ruling himself out of contention. Peter Saube may be able to bring Schumi back, they worked together in sportscars and Ferrari would like it. Or Schumi at Ferrari and Massa back at Sauber, but I doubt both options. |

Hamilton will go to Mercedes, but he is sure that he could win a title? Or he will go to Mercedes for money?
Though it's a shame seeing Perez at Mc Laren i would like to see the next season at Ferrari |

Common sense says they won't be competitive in this millenium.

Peter Sauber supported Schumi with a massive amount of money back when he came into F1, so I wouldn't be surprised if they collaborate again.

Mis-type and they will trust me this rule change is the stupid one ever manufactures of their own engines will be able to work on them for much longer giving them a much better car in the process it also will offer a much better KERS system which will change to ERS (energy recovery system) offer a lot better boost which we already know Mercedes have one of the best 2014 will be their's and Ferrari's season |

His time has come.
I really do hope he wins a GP though, his comeback is quite a shame so far...

Here's hoping he'll end up in sports prototypes one of these days.
After all, Porsche is coming back in LM Prototypes in 2014, and they were looking for development drivers not that long ago, so... why not ?
Not that I give it more than 1% of chances to happen though. |

Says he'll never return to Le Mans, it's too dangerous
